The Shadow Wing Lair is the zone of Blackwing Lair where players encounter the second boss, Vaelastrasz the Corrupt (and, it is assumed, where Vaelastrasz himself was defeated by Lord Victor Nefarius). To progress in the raid, this boss must be defeated; a gate blocks the way into the Halls of Strife until then.

• The Dragonmaw Garrison (lair of Razorgore the Untamed) is directly linked to the Shadow Wing Lair; there are no trash mobs in between.
