The Shadowstalkers are spies — whose job description includes assassinations — and are in Northrend by order of Varimathras.^[1] For instance, Shadowstalker Luther was gathering intelligence on some nearby nerubians before he ran into necrolords and had to poison himself rather than be taken prisoner. Currently, they are fighting the Nerub'ar who are turning Horde soldiers, orcs, tauren, etc., into undead.^[2] Shadowstalker Barthus seems to be in charge of the Shadowstalkers in the area.^[3] They are most likely a sub-faction of the Deathstalkers.
