For nearly three generations, the esteemed Shang Xi has prepared pandaren heroes for lives of adventure.^[1]

Shang Xi's Academy is a faction affiliated with the starting pandaren on the Wandering Isle. It replaced by the faction Pandaren Adventurer's Guild in the Beta around build 15882.^{[citation needed]}

Notes

• So far no obvious benefits exist for this faction.
  • It is NOT a requirement for Dragon Turtle mounts.
• The maximum reputation rating available as of Patch 5.2 is 8150/12000 into Honored.
• Once a pandaren chooses a main faction ( or ), reputation gains with this faction stop.
• It is possible to set the 'at war' flag in the reputation tab. But only quests appear to be affiliated with this faction and the quest givers in the Pandaren starting zone are currently affiliated to this faction (even Master Shang Xi!), so nothing happens and you still get the reputation.
