Sindragosa's Fall

Sindragosa's Fall.

Sindragosa's Fall is the boneyard where the Lich King raised Sindragosa, the frost-queen, as seen in the Wrath of the Lich King cinematic trailer (which can be found here).

During the War of the Ancients, the blue dragonflight was decimated; and many of the dragons fell to ground that later became covered by the Icecrown Glacier. Among them, Malygos's consort Sindragosa died here as she desperately sought to reach the Dragonblight — the place where dragons instinctively travel to die.[1]

Thousands of years later, Arthas Menethil, the Lich King, awoke from his long dormancy and journeyed to Sindragosa's Fall, where he raised Sindragosa into undeath as a mighty skeletal frost wyrm and ordered her to lead the Frostbrood into war.[2][3] The Lich King tore the spirits of Sindragosa's lost whelps into undeath in front of her skeletal form as a final affront to the great dragon.[4][1]

During the war against the Lich King, the area was crawling with Cult of the Damned acolytes and members who were raising more frost wyrms from the ice. The quests here involved the Frostbrood, and adventurers were either sent by Thassarian or Koltira Deathweaver to eliminate the cultist presence there.[5] They later encountered Matthias Lehner who offered them a vision of the Lich King raising Sindragosa in return for Whelp Bone Dusts.[6]
