Creates a cloud of thick smoke in an 8 yard radius around the Rogue for 5 sec. Enemies are unable to target into or out of the smoke cloud. Allies take 20% less damage while within the cloud.
Smoke Bomb is a core rogue ability learned at level 85. Rogues can drop a Smoke Bomb, creating a cloud that interferes with enemy targeting. Enemies who are outside the cloud will find themselves unable to target units inside the cloud with single-target abilities. Enemies can move inside the cloud to attack, or they can use area-of-effect (AoE) abilities at any time to attack opponents in a cloud.
In PvP, this opens up new dimensions of tactical positional gameplay, as the ability offers a variety of offensive and defensive uses. In PvE, Smoke Cloud can serve to shield your group from hostile ranged attacks, while also drawing enemies closer without the need to rely on conventional line-of-sight obstructions.
Patch 5.2.0 (5-Mar-2013): Smoke Bomb now reduces damage taken by allies in the area of effect by 20%, in addition to current effects.
Patch 4.1.0 (26-Apr-2011): Persistent ground effects now display different visuals for hostile and friendly players. The same visual effects for friendly players exist, but the alternate effects have a red tint or hue indicating they are created by an enemy player.
Patch 4.0.6 (8-Feb-2011): Smoke Bomb now lasts for 5 seconds, down from 10 seconds.
