Spider's Silk is dropped by low-level spiders, from level 16 to 25. It is used as a component in recipes from several professions. Its rarity combined with the value of the resulting crafted items make it a valuable drop easily sold on the auction house.

Notes

• Since Cataclysm, this item has become a very rare drop, since many of the mobs that used to drop it appear to have been removed from the game (like  Green Recluse) or the drop rate is lower than in the past (below previous 3% for  Black Widow or  Venom Web Spider) which was already very low.
