About the Spirit of Eskhandar itself : this little guy actually proc quite often (1% while landing a critical strike). As it can prove to be very handy while farming, it can also be a real danger for its owner. Eskhandar is considered as a "Guardian of" and as such is automatically in aggressive mode, meaning it will attack non-neutral ennemy near its owner. Even a AQ20 Buru's egg...
Eskhandar fights and hits for low damages, ranging from 50 on a normal hit to 200 on a critical strike. He will sometimes put a 1200 armor debuff on its target. He's got some decent HP, around 3000 or 4000 I'd say.
All in one, my opinion is that Eskhandar is a good help when farming and when doing PvP or Duels, as seeing a new foe suddenly coming out from nowhere is always disturbing, and as he can very well tank another mob as long as the player does not start to attack it, rather staying focus on its own target ; but in instances, he can just have the entire group or raid wipe because of an unwanted aggro.
Last words would be that, the proc is definitely not what make Eskhandar's set great, but rather its components. The two claws prove to be a real pleasure to handle thanks to their speed, especially added to any class-specific speed increase [down to 0.89 attack speed with warrior's Flurry], and the wearer got some good amount of stamina. Only true and sad bad point to the set is the difficulty to get the left claw, which only can be found on a busy-being-killed-all-time Azuregos.
It is no longer possible to get the whole set; Eskhandar's Pelt has been removed from the game.
