Summons a Stoneskin Totem with 5 health at the feet of the caster. The totem protects party members within 20 yards, reducing melee damage taken by XX (see Description by rank level). Lasts 2 min. Grants the Stoneskin buff.

Functionality

Applies a buff that decreases melee damage (including critical hits) given to all party members near the totem. XX damage is subtracted from each melee hit received. Stoneskin Totem decreases the damage before, not after, armor mitigation, so party members with high armor values will get less damage reduction than is listed in the totem's description.

Limitations

• Must be within 20yd radius of the totem.
• The totem of any rank has only 5 hp; it is easily destroyed by mobs and players.

Tips

• The Stoneskin totem reduces damage taken per hit, therefore making it stronger against fast-hitting attackers like rogues. Fast hitting attackers rely on the cumulative damage done by many small attacks. This totem's per-hit reduction essentially turns that strategy against the attacker, lowering their total damage dealt significantly.

• The Stoneskin totem will not reduce melee damage taken to 0. All mobs who successfully hit you will hit for a minimum of 1 damage.
