Strahnbrad (aka Strombrad) was a town located east of Alterac and south of Andorhal in the human kingdom of Lordaeron. The town was situated in the strategic position of the northern foothills of the Alterac Mountains, but even this was not enough of an advantage to protect the town from ravaging Blackrock Orcs who raided the town shortly prior to the Third War. The Order of the Silver Hand moved quickly to counter the Orcs' aggression, dispatching the legendary paladin Uther the Lightbringer and Prince Arthas to the scene. A brief battle took place at Strahnbrad which saw the Orcs routed easily by the human forces, but much of the town's population was devastated by the Blackrock raid.^{W3 Human 1} Arthas and Uther later discovered that the Orcs had raided the town for slaves to sacrifice in the name of the Burning Legion.^{W3 Human 2}

Strahnbrad was one of the few towns of Lordaeron to survive the coming of the Plague of Undeath, but fell years later to the Syndicate without the protection of Lordaeron's army. Now inhabited by Syndicate personnel, the town is a base of operations for that organization as it conducts efforts throughout the Hillsbrad Foothills and the Arathi Highlands aimed at weakening the Alliance.
