I dunno if I should worry about the humor here. It seems wrong, but making an issue of it seems wrong too. -- Mto 16:32, 3 October 2006 (EDT)

In a few articles such stuff is allowed as it's a deeply ingrained part of the WoW experience - Hogger raids and the jokes about it are very real and very popular, so it is allowed an existence here :) As long as the 'humor section' doesn't interfere with the real info, it's okay in my view -- Kirkburn (talk) 17:08, 3 October 2006 (EDT)

Silly?

Silly article? I can see that some of it may be, but the silly tag that was put up suggests that it is not part of WoW. Sam Weber 22:02, 14 October 2006 (EDT)

That's why I put it halfway down the page, above the strategy section. It needs something to assure people it's not real, anyway. -- Kirkburn (talk) 22:17, 14 October 2006 (EDT)

I'm sorry about the silliness. What can I say, I was bored :P --Kragoth, "Strategy" author

I don't believe the silly strategy is neccessary. People who have never seen him before might think that it's true, regardless of a tag. The only reason why I included the part about the jokes about loot is because they do occur and people acually believe them. --Cigawoot 14:11, 13 November 2006 (EST)

I removed the "stategy" article, as it's does not contribute very much to the page. --Cigawoot 00:00, 15 December 2006 (EST)

Warning

Added the following warning to the article stating this:

Note: This page is not for silly or fake "strategies". Strategies for soloing Hogger at level 10 with a priest, etc, are fine, but keep it factual. Do not add these comments as they will be removed.

It is getting very annoying to reverse edits because someone invented a false "strategy" for Hogger. I know the jokes are out there, but this isn't the place for them. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cigawoot (talk · contr).

Origin of Hogger jokes

I was jsut wondering if someone knows the origin of the Hogger jokes? I'd be really interested to know... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Goooose (talk · contr).

lol funny thing is, if u open up your achivements and check statictics and click on deaths, u will see a thing called Deaths by Hogger

Well I am not sure when it started as I did not start until awhile into the Burning Crusade. I think it has something to with Hogger being the first elite type of enemy you fight, as a human at least. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 08:26, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Oh no. The Hogger meme is way older than TBC. IconSmall BloodElf MaleAMBER(RΘCK) 22:44, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Hogger was the very first elite, most alliance players encountered. As such many people didn't realize what that meant and many deaths occurred with his hands. Since most players would solo the first zone it would come to a shock to them to need a grp to do this little ole gnoll, not to mention his large pathing area.. he would be able to sneak up behind players while they killed other groups of gnolls for the other quest in that area... from that level 60s who got bored waiting cause not enough people would show up for the 40mans would suggest going after Hogger for some revenge, others would joke that would be insane... he would require a full raid..... and basically the jokes went on from there. People would also raid hogger with forty man groups of level one alts as part of the joke (the use of level ones was to "prove" tht he needed a full raid.SargeLIVES (talk) 21:02, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

Hit points

Was just questing around Elwynn for Stormwind rep. When I got to Hogger, I noticed his hit points is 666, an obvious reference to the Devil. Can that be put in the trivia or something? Seldo (talk) 21:34, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

removing the nonsense and asking for a citation

Regarding "Hogger is given the royal treatment: A hill of his own, and he is the king of it." He is standing on a hill by himself. He is also the leader of the gnolls around him; their king if you will. Blizzard loves to spoof a lot of stuff in WOW. I think this is a reference to the expression King of the Hill. Can...

Can someone please tell me if he is the same Hogger http://www.wowwiki.com/Hogger_%28tactics%29 ?--JVS (talk) 19:18, October 2, 2010 (UTC)
