The 31-point talent in the Druid's Restoration Tree, Swiftmend, checks for either a Rejuvenation or Regrowth HoT effect on the target and instantly heals it for an amount equal to the full duration of that spell.
Rank table
| Rank | Level | Casting Time | Mana Cost | Description | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 40 | N/A | 16% Base Mana (379@level 70) | Consumes a Rejuvenation or Regrowth effect on a target to instantly heal them for an amount equal to 12 secs of Rejuvenation or 18 secs of Regrowth. | Talent |
Notes
- Swiftmend heals the target for the equal amount of 12 seconds of Rejuvenation, or 18 seconds of Regrowth
- If in any case both Rejuvenation and Regrowth are present on the target, the HoT with the least time left will be consumed. (credit to the Official Druid forums)
- +Healing gear is accounted for, at the same rate as the Rejuvenation (80%) or Regrowth.
- A player can consume a Regrowth or Rejuvenation with Swiftmend casted by another druid. In this case it uses the base value of the HoT casters spell, but uses the +healing of the caster of Swiftmend.
For example, a Swiftmend on a rank 10 Rejuvenation will heal 756 (before talents) +80% of +healing.
Tips and tactics
- This spell is amazingly useful for a restro druid. This is one of only two abilities (the other being Nature's Swiftness) available to a druid to deliver a quick heal on an ally. It can be used either to maintain a tank's hp when he is taking damage faster than HoT can sustain him, or as last minute save when an ally takes sudden or unexspected damage.
- It is preferable to wait until the HoT-to-be-consumed has nearly run out prior to using swiftmend, so as not to waste potential healing from the HoT's remaining time.
- In pvp (particularly battlegrounds) this is a great way to save someone when Nature's Swiftness is not ready or you don't wish to expend it. Casting rejuvenate immediately followed by swiftmend will usually heal enough to buy one time to stack HoTs on the target.
- also great for flag running in WSG. Cast a rejuvenate immediately before changing to travel form, then cast Swiftmend right before it wears off; this will give a decent amount of healing without slowing ones escape by much.
- During fights that tend towards spike damage it may be worthwhile to keep a HoT on individuals who do not need it (at full health or already have stacked lifebloom) so that swiftmend can be cast instantly if they suddenly sustain substantial damage.
Past changes
Patch 1.11 (6/20/06): This new talent has been added to the Druid Restoration tree, replacing Innervate as the 31 point ultimate talent. It consumes a Rejuvenation or Regrowth aura to produce an instant heal.
