Swing is an action (character animation) that occurs when your weapon deals damage (unless the target dodges).^{[citation needed]}

On-swing attacks wait for your next swing to happen (Raptor Strike, Heroic Strike, Maul.) They are opposed to instant attacks.

The amount of time between two swings of a single weapon is equal to your attack speed.^{[citation needed]} Parrying reduce the time until your next swing.^{[citation needed]}
