Talk:Arcane golem
From WoWWiki
I would suggest changing article's name, but not sure what should it be. Capitalization should not make that difference. --Shargas the Naga (talk) 15:08, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Policy is that "race" names are always decapitalized. Arcane guardian appears during quest text in lower case showing that it is not a proper noun. I think the term arcane guardian is also the name of the model. In other words it refers to all the all various mobs that share the same model as a whole (at least some source classifies them differently).Baggins (talk) 15:39, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- I was talking specifically of the differences between articles Arcane Guardian and Arcane guardian. It should be done something with them. --Shargas the Naga (talk) 15:44, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- One is a specific mob article the other one refers to the class of monster as a whole. They are covering different subjects. Also it seems someone removed it but as I recall an arcane guardian was also referred to in the RPG as well long before we ever saw any in the games.Baggins (talk) 15:50, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- Just maybe rename this article Arcane Guardian (race) (or similarily)? --Shargas the Naga (talk) 16:10, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think it should stay how it is, but if you are going to move one it would be to Arcane Guardian (mob).--SWM2448 21:51, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Name
In some text they are called "arcane golems". Is "arcane guardian" also used in text? I cannot find any citations. Rolandius

- They've been called guardians, golems, annihilators, constructs, sentries, and probably a few other terms.

Move suggestion
Sources - The model is named arcanegolem, the art in The Art of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade is labeled Arcane Golem, and the TCG calls them Arcane Guardian. Going to be a lot needing moving, but I think its clear golem is the prefered name. I'll move it in a few days though to give time for comments/opinions.
