Talk:Compendium of the best Paladin's weapons

From WoWWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Could we please see some equations that will figure in the calculated damage of a retribution paladin that has Vengance and Sanctity aura. Considering the new talents proposed for the BC xpac, these figured would be greatly appreciated.

For the sake of brevity, these increases are as follows

10% holy damage increase from Sanctity Aura 6% melee damage increase from 2hand spec 15% holy AND melee increase from vengance

this means that every crit, a retribution paladin with at least 30 points in that tree will have a total bonus of

25% holy damage increase 21% physical damage increase for 6 seconds.

this is a sizable increase in DPS and needs to be calculated

Assumed stats?

800 AP? +140 to spell damage? Jesus. Why such high numbers? Wouldn't 500 AP and +100 to spells be a little more realistic? I mean, yeah, the Judgement set alone gives you +153 spell damage, but then where's all that AP going to come from? The set only adds 92 STR. Just curious. RobertM525 20:21, 4 September 2006 (EDT)

You really think these are so fantastic? I am all-average pally and my AP is 702! Check it out here. I actually don't know how to find out my spell damage. If you got some piece of a decent armor set, I think you will quickly gain those stats. -- Mabu 22:31, 14 September 2006 (GMT+1)

Blessing of Might, rank 7, adds 185 AP. Judgement set adds 92 STR for 184 AP, totalling 369 AP. That leaves 431 AP unaccounted for. It would require another 216 strength (if the AP was all from strength) from the cloak, neck item, rings, and trinkets. Not likely. So, yeah, I think 800 AP and 140 spell damage is a lot. But maybe I'm crazy. :) RobertM525 21:26, 16 October 2006 (EDT)

BTW now we have the original post link back to work, you can see that Dokey, on page 7 was surprised just like you for the 800 attack power. But nobody answered. Dont know why, sry. --;abu 16:12, 15 September 2006 (GMT+1)

Naxxramas Weapons

This list needs to be updated with new naxxramas weapons. You can start off with this list: Naxxramas Weapons. I did calculations for Might of Menethil and came up with 195 DPS, wow! --Jaxdahl 15:40, 14 September 2006 (EDT)

Broken Link

The forum link no longer works. Can anyone find out where the forum topic has gone? Can't find it anymore on US WoW's Forums. Google still has his cache pages there but where's the true post? -- Mabu 22:35, 14 September 2006 (GMT+1)

It wasn't stickied, so it has 'expired'. You'd have to ask for a repost or something like that. --Jaxdahl 16:40, 14 September 2006 (EDT)
Never mind, here it is: http://12.129.217.203/thread.aspx?fn=wow-paladin&t=820894
Bear in mind, BTW, that Blizzard will eventually delete that archive, also. Someone ought to use this occasion to track down the author to see if he's continued his work. :) RobertM525 02:28, 15 September 2006 (EDT)

Pick up Drahmin

If anyone has an account on Wow-US (I got EU version game) plz try to pick Drahmin on the forums, point him to this wiki page so for future calculations he can post here. --Mabu 16:27, 15 September 2006 (GMT+1)

DPS vs HPS

I think it should be clarified in the article that this is for Paladin's looking to focus on DPS with/without SoC. Additionally, I'd be interested in seeing (or compiling if enough demand) a similar list using +heal/dmg, +INT, and other important healing stats for those of us that focus on healing. --Tusva 16:17, 25 October 2006 (EDT)

Out of Date

This page is unfortunately almost uselessly out-of-date; many items from Burning Crusade outclass many of the items on the table, and the ability to reach level 70 along with other new BC gear makes it such that the assumptions that went into the table regarding what's a reasonable amount of attack power and spell damage for a paladin to have are also out-of-date. I love this table, and it'd be great to see it updated if anyone's up for it. --Joyd 17:17, 3 May 2007 (CDT)

Way out of Date

If we don't have any volunteers to update this page (and I am not volunteering), I think it should be removed. I am researching starting a paladin, and this page unfairly raised my expectations about what information would be present. -- Cyndrax 20:57, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

By this point, it would be to late as it would only need to be done again for the WotLC stuff. Meneldir
