Druidism

- In a way you have them... The Blood elf hunters are the equivalent to Elven Rangers of Quel'Thalas. They just aren't the shape shifting druidic types you are used to, :P... But are still nature loving type.Baggins 04:02, 30 December 2006 (EST)
Jaedenar Druids
I was reading some orc in Felwood (he had a sword named Hellfire and 2 succubi as assistants) raised some druids into undeath and they had most of their druidic powers. Why can't the Dark Rangers use theres?

- Fel’dan has learned how to reanimate the deceased druids of Jaedenar into intelligent undead druids who retain many of their abilities. These undead druids have such an intimate knowledge of nature that they are able to spread the corruption of Felwood much further and faster than normal. The Living
Is it possible for a living humanoid to be a Dark Ranger? What I mean is, if there was a Forsaken that would teach let's say a Blood Elf, could he teach him, or is it impossible for them to do since only undead can or something?

- Dark Ranger Marrah is named a dark ranger...she appears to be alive. Its description says they were ,basically, rangers brought back from the dead and taught new arts. So I believe it's more of a teaching than an undead requirement. I don't see Sylvanas sharing that info with outsiders however...

- It says in the RPG that being undead is a requirement for being a Dark Ranger, as well as Dark Rangers being found only among the Forsaken, who are exclusively undead. It's more than just choosing evil like a Death Knight would; it's about the shock of losing one's touch with nature through undeath and turning to the shadow in one's hatred. Males
Is it possible for males to be dark rangers, or is it female specific? There don't seem to be -any- examples of the former, and there's nothing on the page about it.
- Since there are both Male and Female rangers in lore, I don't see why there shouldn't be any male dark rangers. The "female exclusive" ranger stems from Warcraft III where dark rangers were based on Sylvanas Windrunner. I don't see any reason why males can't be. Nathanos Blightcaller is listed as a dark ranger, and thats accurate, due to him being able to summon skeletons and his "Psychic Scream" ability.--Blayaden (talk) 17:12, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
- I believe I found a way to prove you wrong, Blayaden. Dark Rangers are High Elven rangers who were slain in the Third War, correct? Nathanos Brightcaller's situation, however, is that he's human, therefor never died in Quel'Thalas meaning he's no banshee. Dark Rangers are basically Rangers, correct? But, the Rangers are from Quel'Thalas! And the Banshees inhabit their normal bodies, making Dark Rangers. Seeing Nathanos was the only human ranger, and he died, he's basically the [i]only[/i] Male as well as Non-elven ranger in existence to date, as well as the only non-elven Dark Ranger? Correct me if I've fault in my calculations. Pardon me if I'm wrong. There's just been a hard debate about if there can be male rangers. - I don't think the prerequisite for being a dark ranger is turning into a banshee and returning to your body. It merely requires that you die (as a ranger), come back as a Forsaken, and follow a "darker path". Sylvanas just went the extra mile. (:P)--Blayaden (talk) 14:49, March 23, 2010 (UTC)

When is the other time? Sure, they cannibalize and have underwater breathing and the like, sometimes other things concerning ability. But that's because they're undead, which gives an advantage of things they can't do while living. The scream of the Banshee is I believe unique to the banshee, as well as I don't believe Nathanos looks like the warlockish type.Zamoonda (talk) 21:52, March 24, 2010 (UTC)
- After doing quite a bit of research of the NPC's abilities, I came to a number of conclusions. They all have typical Ranged abilites (autoshot, multishot) most have Black Arrow (Blightcaller has an ability called "shadow shot" probably a "beta" black arrow, the ones that don't have black arrow are NPC's that don't fight, like Vorel) some can stealth, the new ones in Undercity have nets, and only two have "banshee screams". Guess which two. I'll give a hint, the first is known as The Banshee Queen and the other is is MALE.--Blayaden (talk) 14:48, March 27, 2010 (UTC)

- From what I've seen, it can just an undead elf ranger (or human because of Blightcaller) and trained to use their new "undead" abilities. Sylvanas is a notable case because she's both a banshee and has her body. Best (or worst) of both worlds, I guess. I'm betting with the Undead getting hunters, they'll be referred to as "Dark Rangers" like blood elf hunters are referred to as rangers in quest dialogue. --Blayaden (talk) 17:15, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
