Why does "Daemon" link to Doomguard? it's just not needed. - Ragestorm, Head Bookkeeper 6 Feb, 2006, 18:45 (EST)

Why is Fel Orc there? Fel Orcs are classified as humanoid, leaving one to believe that the blood infusion doesn't corrupt them enough to grant demonic status. Moonshadow101

All demons may have been mortal once?[]

Demons were mortal once, but have been transformed by their conversion into demonic beings. This change includes a powerful command of arcane energy. They define and control this arcane power with the force of their will, much as sorcerers and wizards do.[1]

Its old information, but interesting nether the less, considering the fact that we got storylines for Felguards, and Man'ari Eredar suggesting this same thing... It really opens up the possibility that perhaps Sargeras did fight some evil Eredar at one point, and perhaps that's what lead him to their Argus in the first place... Speculation, but a good author could tie it all togetherBaggins

Where does it say Felguards were?  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 04:57, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

All demons evil?[]

Last I checked Sargares is misunderstood or an insomniac. Just because a character has those traits does not make em evil (feel free to spam this bad joke) --The last Alterac 11:27, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah the poor fella is misunderstood. All he really wants when he destroys your planet is a hug:) (Keilden 11:39, 23 January 2008 (UTC))

He may be insane, but the insanity of a titan is a force to be reckoned with, so his threat must be ended nonetheless. ~My rage bar is blue and I start the fight pissed - Peregrine 13:09, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Also, there's the example in Ashenvale of the Satyr who get "redeemed," thus implying that at least some demons have control over their "evility." MynockSpit (talk) 02:50, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Unique Individuals[]

What are the Demon Lords of Dungeons & Dragons lore doing on the list of "Unique Individuals"? --Super Bhaal (talk) 10:54, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Races?[]

It may take a year, but shouldn't some of the races be removed now that Appendix Three was thrown out? For instance, stirge demon and alu-demon. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 05:37, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Table splitting[]

Would anyone know how to split rows in a table ? For example, in the "Races" section, I'd like the Sayaad/Succubus/Incubus rows to look like Succubus and Incubus are part of the Sayaad, and not different from them. So this. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by MyMindWontQuiet (talk · contr).

You could do something like this:

Race Description Homeworld
IconSmall PitLord Annihilan (or pit lords) Gigantic generals who lead the armies of the Legion, surpassed in power only by the demonic eredar. Unknown
Sayaad IconSmall Succubus Succubus They serve the Burning Legion by conducting nightmarish interrogations. Unknown
Incubi Have never been seen. Unknown

The problem is that tables are not good for a parent/child structure. This won't work for eredar, imp, infernal, or mo'arg where the parent would have their own description. --Aquamonkeyeg (talk) 23:03, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

But it looks messy IMO and might as well go back to the bulleted list which is better for this kind of format. --Aquamonkeyeg (talk) 23:13, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Thanks. I see the problem, and I've found a solution. Give me a few minutes. -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 23:14, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
Tables are nice for their clarity, while bulleted lists are nice for their hierarchy. It is possible to use both. Keep the table, but instead of merging the rows as I suggested before, the result should be [[1]]. Just need to figure out how to do it. -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 23:22, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Sargeras Demon Attributes[]

We see the model of the Avatar of Sargeras and he has feet which probably means Sargeras himself has feet while the page says he has hooves. It also said he had scales which I disagree seeing as he has cracked and fiery skin instead. I might change it but I'd like to know if I'm wrong in my observation. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Calphricham (talk · contr) on 19:14, 2 February 2022‎.

looks like that info was added in 2006. i woud guess it was based on the RPG, which showed the avatar as having digitigrade legs (and... i guess scales?): File:Aegwyn vs Sargeras.JPG.
anyway, safe to say it's probably not right anymore. i'd personally put him having hooves as unknown, unless we can find a modern source showing what the heck he has down there. Eithris (talk) 00:04, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

Demon Origins: Sayaad, Shivarra[]

I have re-read through some pertinent sections of Chronicle Vol. I and don't believe I've seen any mentions of shivarra or succubi being defined as "original demons" (e.g. beings originally borne from the Twisting Nether, rather than conscripted into the Burning Legion at a later date like the Eredar). I don't want to make an abrupt change, however, so I'd rather make absolutely sure that they aren't. For the record, Chronicle Vol. I has no mentions of "Sayaad", one mention of "Succubi" (none for Succubus, the singular), and none for Incubus. There is one mention of shivarra, which is during the same chapter (The Burning Crusader) where the Mo'arg, Pit Lords (who are however previously defined as 'original demons'), and Succubi are mentioned.

I think it would be more aligned with the written medium if the original demons mentioned are Annihilans and Void Hounds. While the latter is of a dubious origin, considering their connection to shadow magic (which was, as we all recall, retconned into being a different cosmic force entirely) and their inconsistent standing among demon-summoners (e.g. The Shen'dralar with Immol'thar's summoning) and servants of the Old Gods (e.g. Shad'har the Insatiable within Ny'alotha, the Waking City), I cannot find any concrete sources denoting shivarra and sayaad to be originally Twisting Nether-born species.

Now, on one hand, why does this matter?

I think it's necessary to represent the game's written canon as accurately as possible. I may have overlooked quest text implying contrary to the above in regards to shivarra and sayaad, but when discussions relating to the nature of Fel magic and demons crop up, people generally want as accurate a source as possible — especially when it comes to a site that chronicles as much lore as possible as Wowpedia. Erkorr (talk) 17:06, 2 September 2022 (UTC)

on sayaad... i THINK the idea of them being original demons was based on this page in the first Warcraft Saga comic. the horned, hooved demon getting stabbed by sargeras was speculated to be an incubus, because no other demon we know of would make any sense. imo it's too weak to take as confirmation.
anyway, skimming through chronicle, yeah i'd say annihilan and void hounds make sense. looks like it also mentions infernals as original demons, but they're already mentioned a bit later in this page's opening paragraph. i'll just go ahead and swap the text to say annihilan and void hounds.
