Do we really need an article for this? Why not file it under paladin? Many articles are good, but useless ones aren't. Xavius, the Satyr Lord 17:19, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Because, ex-paladins show up in the RPG lore as seperate category from regular paladins.Baggins (talk) 05:37, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Wouldn't a "dark paladin" be the antithesis of a paladin and a "dark knight" be the antithesis of a knight?  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 01:44, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

A dark paladin and a scarlet knight appear to be about the same, and at least for Garithos he did have a paladin power. So essentially probably all about the same thing.Baggins (talk) 01:54, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Oh okay, ya I can i see a dark paladin being like a scarlet knight.  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 01:56, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
I add the citation for dark paladins, but the book is pretty vague on what one is. It probably is a reference to the scarlet knights.Baggins (talk) 01:59, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Is there not enough information for a "dark paladin" page?  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 02:04, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

definition of an ex-paladinEdit

I thought this was just a page on ex-paladins, not really evil paladins. Tirion is good I would say, but he is an ex-paladin as far as I know. He was ex-communicated and his powers taken away by Uther.  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 02:25, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Okay I don't know is every book except the RPG invalid?  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 02:34, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Events that take place after earlier books take precedence over earlier events. I.E. He has returned to being a paladin by the time of Lands of Conflict. Someone can't be an Ex-paladin and a Paladin at the same time as far as I know. An ex-paladin is stripped of his light-based powers (usually just by the simple act of doing evil deeds) as soon as he chooses to turn away from the path.Baggins (talk) 02:37, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Okay that explains it, but I am not sure how will other good paladins will look upon him if he is ex-communicated still? By the way, I think he is still a Paladin myself also because, even after he was ex-communicated and stripped of his powers by Uther, he was able to heal Eitrigg with some kind of power.  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 02:43, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Since you know much about RPG's, do you know why someone like Jorad Mace is considered an ex-paladin? He is friendly and stands right next to Tyrygosa.  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 03:20, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
He calls himself an former paladin in the manga, based on choices he made inbetween the flashbacks and the present in the story. As for his current status, its unknown. The new manga should shed more light. He may soon become a paladin again, and cease to be "ex-paladin". P.S. The scarlet crusade ex-paladins teaching new paladin recruits is from the RPG. You might misinterpret what its saying, but the authors knew what they were intending.Baggins (talk) 03:24, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh okay I thought it was a confusing sentence. You know, an ex-paladin teaching someone to become a paladin. Wouldn't they just become ex-paladins themselves?  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 03:27, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
You are confused. Their are ex-paladins are teaching paladins that joined the Scarlet Crusade. Paladins that are slowly corrupting becoming ex-paladins themselves.Baggins (talk) 03:35, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
I am confused. Is it ex-paladins in the Scarlet Crusade corrupting Paladins in the Scarlet Crusade? Or is it ex-paladins in the Scarlet Crusade training people to become Paladins and then initiating them into the Scarlet Crusade?  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 03:38, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
The paladins are slowly corrupting and the ex-palidins are teaching them.Baggins (talk)
Okay that makes more sense. I thought it meant the ex-paladins were finding people and teaching them to become paladins. Then telling them they can now join the Scarlet Crusade.  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 03:46, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

ghosts of ex-paladinsEdit

Okay on this subject, I just want to clarify one thing. I did not say those ones that you put a citiation tag on were ex-paladins. Someone else added all of those. All I did was cross reference with the Famous Paladins page so that they don't contradict each other. You have pages on wowwiki saying one thing, and then another page saying something totally different. All I am doing is trying to make sense out of them.  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 02:49, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm not blaming anyone did I mention names? I'm just telling whoever added those better have a good reason for adding them.Baggins (talk) 02:53, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh okay. It is just that half of the time it seems people notice the changes only after I have added on to something I never made in the first place.  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 02:55, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Class? Edit

It says "Note: An ex-paladin is not so much a true variant or class, but a penalized paladin (blocked from Light-given abilities)." so then why is it a class on WoWWiki? It sounds like a description, and I don't think descriptions are classes... Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 02:40, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

I'd like to point out the "not so much" part, which implies that it IS a class, but not much of one. Toran Wildpaw of the Frenzyheart (talk) 02:43, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Okay then why kind of class is it? Variant? Core? Racial iconic? Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 02:45, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey, I never said I knew very much about the RPG <_< Ask Baggins or something, he seems to know a hell a lot more then I do. Toran Wildpaw of the Frenzyheart (talk) 02:47, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Well I read the RPG and cannot find what kind of class it is, so I don't think "Variant class" fits. I will put it under "RPG classes" until someone finds a source defining it. Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 02:55, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
