Talk:Ex-paladin
From WoWWiki
Do we really need an article for this? Why not file it under paladin? Many articles are good, but useless ones aren't. Xavius, the Satyr Lord 17:19, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Because, ex-paladins show up in the RPG lore as seperate category from regular paladins.Baggins (talk) 05:37, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Wouldn't a "dark paladin" be the antithesis of a paladin and a "dark knight" be the antithesis of a knight? Rolandius

A dark paladin and a scarlet knight appear to be about the same, and at least for Garithos he did have a paladin power. So essentially probably all about the same thing.Baggins (talk) 01:54, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Oh okay, ya I can i see a dark paladin being like a scarlet knight. Rolandius

definition of an ex-paladin
I thought this was just a page on ex-paladins, not really evil paladins. Tirion is good I would say, but he is an ex-paladin as far as I know. He was ex-communicated and his powers taken away by Uther. Rolandius

- Okay I don't know is every book except the RPG invalid? Rolandius

- Events that take place after earlier books take precedence over earlier events. I.E. He has returned to being a paladin by the time of Lands of Conflict. Someone can't be an Ex-paladin and a Paladin at the same time as far as I know. An ex-paladin is stripped of his light-based powers (usually just by the simple act of doing evil deeds) as soon as he chooses to turn away from the path.Baggins (talk) 02:37, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Okay that explains it, but I am not sure how will other good paladins will look upon him if he is ex-communicated still? By the way, I think he is still a Paladin myself also because, even after he was ex-communicated and stripped of his powers by Uther, he was able to heal Eitrigg with some kind of power. Rolandius

- He calls himself an former paladin in the manga, based on choices he made inbetween the flashbacks and the present in the story. As for his current status, its unknown. The new manga should shed more light. He may soon become a paladin again, and cease to be "ex-paladin". P.S. The scarlet crusade ex-paladins teaching new paladin recruits is from the RPG. You might misinterpret what its saying, but the authors knew what they were intending.Baggins (talk) 03:24, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
ghosts of ex-paladins
Okay on this subject, I just want to clarify one thing. I did not say those ones that you put a citiation tag on were ex-paladins. Someone else added all of those. All I did was cross reference with the Famous Paladins page so that they don't contradict each other. You have pages on wowwiki saying one thing, and then another page saying something totally different. All I am doing is trying to make sense out of them. Rolandius
