Several items pages in WoWWiki have: "This item has no specified source in the Armory. It is possible that the Armory is incomplete, or that this item is no longer obtainable." for items that seem to be only available through fishing and are only caught rarely. These items are also reported on El's Extreme Anglin'. El's is based on empirical data - people reporting what they actually caught. It would seem that the Armory is indeed incomplete - perhaps is not designed to address items obtained through fishing. The Armory is already well know to be incomplete with regard to character data - no characters under level 10, not always up to date, and inactive characters may get dropped. Maybe there is a threshold of item activity for items to appear in The Armory. Of course, it is always possible that even if an item did exist, it has been dropped. But there are a fair number of these cases, so that seems doubtful. My tentative conclusion is that lack of presence in The Armory is not particularly meaningful for these items. I added a subheading for fishing equipment for the Darkwood Fishing Pole. I was wondering if anyone has caught any other fishing gear while fishing? I think I have caught a lure, but I'm not certain, but prompted to ask. If any, I would expect vended items, so fishing lures, maybe a Strong Fishing Pole.
