Talk:Heirloom

Technically the "Hierloom" has not replaced the "Artifact" if you are counting GM items. If you are just counting in-game status then it would seem they have, although those GM items are still called Artifact and not Hierloom items correct? Rolandius

Heirlooms do not replace Artifacts
I was under the impression that heirlooms were distributable to any character on your account: Binds to Account. They scale by level making it easier for you to level up your alts. In this regard, heirlooms do not replace Artifacts.
Quality
Technically, Heirlooms do not sound to me like the new "highest quality" item. Aren't they different than any of the other colors? Rolandius

They're not the highest quality. They're a very special quality of item. They grow with you, and remain about the level of a blue.
Enchantments?
What happens if you put an enchant on a weapon and then send it to a much lower level alt character? The item level as far as I can tell is 1, so you probably could put some very hefty enchants on these and then send them to level 1 characters, right? Moleculor (talk) 22:11, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
Heirlooms always count as level 1 items in all respects. So if the enchant or enhancement has a level pre-req then you wont be able to use it on the haeirloom. Cruentuz (talk) 00:26, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
All of this is now reflected in the article, as well of a short list of enchants to use on your heirlooms. Removed the stub flag since this article is now looking beefy. - Crystufer (After 2 hours of editing article.)
I see that the zandalar shoulder enchants were removed from this list. The user responsible said it was tested. Was this tested first hand or by a friend of a friend? Because my zandalar shoulder enchants are less than a month old. - Crystufer 7/4/09
Zandalar signets have been removed from this list twice, and I've reverted them twice. I won't revert them again. If you guys honestly believe that they should be excluded simply because they have an item level requirement, then so be it. But I think that they should be on there since they have the lowest required level of all the enchants that actually work on the shoulders, and are darned effective, too. Also, if they are to be left off because they have a required level, a strong argument can be made that no scopes should be listed either. These are the things people come here to see, so I think they should just go all on. If anything, list every enchant and remove the for space's sake thing. I was just being lazy that day. - Crystien
Recruit-a-Friend?
Does the heirloom xp bonus stack with the Recruit-a-Friend triple xp? Achinfish (talk) 00:46, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- Yes. I recently created a account with recruit-a-friend and transferred one of my characters with the shoulders over to it and I can confirm that I get 10% more xp when killing a mob with the shoulders on then my friend gets. Ifandbut (talk) 19:02, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Heirloom chests are available for badges on the PTR
Unless this is gonna be changed the chests are available for badges on the PTR instead of argent totkens. --Essmene (talk) 14:01, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
- Just checked the PTR. All Heirloom items are both available in Dalaran for badges as well as for argent of dawn items in the pavillion. The prices do vary. It seems that the argent prices are ~ 1/3 higher. -- Essmene (talk) 14:28, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Stat discrepencies
I don't know where the links are from, but the speed on the Upgraded Dwarven Hand Canon are wrong. It appears as 2.7, should be 2.9. It's possible other items are off as well.
2 Weapons only with Champ Seals?
Under "Weapons, Accessories, Misc" it says: "Two new weapons were added that are only purchaseable with Champion's Seals. ".. I don't see any 2 heirloom items in that are "only" purchasable with Champion's Seals... am i blind? --Maverick (talk) 08:38, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
