This page seems to be controversial. It uses "three outcomes model", whereas as stated in Formulas:Spell_hit_chance#The_effect_of_crit_on_hit_chance,

Unlike the melee combat system, spell crit makes absolutely no different to hit chance. All spells, regardless of whether they are treated as binary or not, roll hit and crit separately. That means that you only crit if your spell hits and then crits, multiplying the two chances together: crit rate over all spells = crit * hit

That information was put in very recently, and no information currently supports that multiple roll model. It has been taken out until the contributor can actually source his info. Pzychotix (talk · contr) 11:36, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Actually, the author now has provided the source for his "multi-roll system". Also, i believe Blizzard's [1] also talks about two rolls. Fibby 10:09, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
