Talk:Itharius

From WoWWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Is Itharius a dragon? I don't think so, and unless there's something that proves it, he shouldn't be listed as one. He comes up on Track Humanoid, for one. That suggests he isn't a dragon. And as far as I can tell, he never claims to be a dragon... Anyone have any proof? --Darkfox190 13:13, 7 May 2006 (EDT)

Here's a little more evidence against him being a dragon. For the quest "The Essence of Eranikus", he says "...you agree to aid my cause and the cause of Ysera's Dragonflight...", which suggests that he is not a part of Ysera's Dragonflight, which is the green dragons, and that instead he has interest in helping for some other reason. --Darkfox190 13:19, 7 May 2006 (EDT)
You can't use track to investigate a creature's true race since most NPCs track as humanoids whether or not they actually are (Onu for instance). And speaking about your own faction does not exclude yourself from that faction - "Uncle Sam wants you". He's waaay to deep into the Green Flight's secrets to be anything but a dragon. Dragons in humanoid form are not at all unusual - see Haleh, Chromie, Tyri, Krasus, Katrana Prestor, Victor Nefarius and Kalaran Windblade.--  Varghedin  talk / contribs 01:39, 13 January 2007 (EST)
As far as I'm aware, all of those check as Dragons with Track Dragonkin. Try it out on Prestor - Walk into Stormwind Keep with Track Humanoid up, and she doesn't show up on the mini map. Turn on Track Dragonkin, and bam, she's there. "Lady Katrana Prestor" is Dragonkin. I don't think we can consider Itharius a dragon, any more than we can consider Garek to be a dragon. Itharius should be qualified as a High Elf, then if he openly states or shows he's a dragon or shows up on Track Dragonkin, then he could be changed to reflect his status as a Dragon. And as a side note, his two quests never actually prove he's a dragon. --Darkfox190 02:19, 13 January 2007 (EST)
Doesn't he call Eranikus his brother? --Lynos 19:27, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

True, however there a number of beings in the caverns of time that don't show up on track dragonkin, and the only reason the bronze are letting the players in the caverns is because it's absolutly neccessary, the bronze have under no other conditions (as far as I know) let a mortal into their caverns. Itharius seems too connected to the green dragonflight to think he isn't a dragon. Also note that in the quest to talk to the human in winterspring Itharius describes him as "one of our mortal allies" (that may or may not be the offical wording, it's been mounths since I did the quest) note his use of the word "our" which was probably meant to refer to the green dragonflight. After killing Eranikus (i believe) more dialogue opens he. he states Eranikus is his brother and uses "we" when refering to the attack the dragons launched against the temple. it's made very clear Itharius is a dragon. also you can not use what a mob is listed as in WoW as reliable info. take MC for example. every mob in MC is a elemental. however many are listed as beasts, giants, humanoids, etc...Warthok 21:46, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
