Page title

Moved to List of mining nodes because taht seemed more appropriate and descriptive than Mining proficiencies. Heck, that's what the mining profession table called it. // ProjektTHOR (talk) 01:58, September 14, 2009 (UTC)

Skill levels

The mining skill levels say that Rich Thorium Veins go gray at 350, but I'm still seeing them green at 351. I'll try to find out when they actually go gray and fill in the correct values. -- Rmunn 15:33, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Still green at 360. -- Rmunn 16:02, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Still green at 365 (!). I'm guessing Rich Thorium Veins don't ever actually go gray -- or if they do, it's going to be at 375. -- Rmunn 05:11, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

2.3 or earlier: skill 235 Iron goes gray, mithril green intead of 225 --Dhatch 05:32, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Node yields

Is there a site like wowhead or thottbot which allows you to filter out data predating patch 3.0.8, or will we have to manually determine the current mineral node yield ranges? -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 07:13, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

I've used the maximum yields from wowhead, as the patch should not have lowered them. I've also added minimum yields from personal experience, and added missing gems from wowhead. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 01:49, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Article name

I'd prefer "mining nodes" which seems to be the standard general term used in update notes. About half of the non-quest ores are mined from deposits rather than veins, and a few nodes types don't yield ore. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 08:40, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

How about ore deposits? Covers both issues: Mine, that the important term is ore and yours, the usage of vein versus deposit. Sounds like a good solution. I'll wait to hear back from you before I make the new move. If this is okay with you, feel free to make the move and fix the double redirs.  : ] // ProjektTHOR (talk) 03:54, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
My issue with "ore veins" is that it is narrow and unofficial. "Ore deposits" would have the same problem as "ore veins". The in-game description of Spell nature earthquake [Find Minerals] uses the term "mineral veins", while the patch notes generally use use "mining nodes" or "mineral nodes". -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 18:19, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
Honestly, its not that important to me, its better than what it was originally // ProjektTHOR (talk) 12:58, September 24, 2009 (UTC)
