Maiev Vs. Illidan

I'm just wondering what Maiev could possibly do against Illidan, if she ever had the chance to track him down? Throw some nets on him and call it a day? Pzychotix 03:34, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Haven't you heard how the Black Temple turns out yet? --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 11:18, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Well not really. I'm hearing that Maiev comes at 1% and does the killing blow, but that's a little ridiculous there. We do all the work and Maiev comes and takes the kill. That's not really what I mean here. Pzychotix 11:44, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
If Maiev sees Illidan again, she'll just kill him. She left the netting idea after Dalaran. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 13:31, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Well my question is: is she powerful on her own to win in a 1v1 fight? I'm a bit unsure on the overall strength of the two. Or is there some sort of special warden magic that she gets to use on Illidan? Pzychotix 15:30, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Hmm... Not sure about that one. I am tempted to say that they're evenly matched, at least in terms of melee ability. In terms of magic, Illidan is obviously the stronger sorcerer, but we've never received an in-depth description of what Maiev is capable of magically. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 12:26, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

I guess that type of distinction needs to be made. I'd guess in melee combat, spell mastery means little when it requires time and preparation to do their ultimate leet insta-gib spells. I always assumed that the powers he gained also augmented his overall strength too, but that's probably not the case. Pzychotix (talk · contr) 12:30, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Even if it were, Maiev is probably faster- Illidan's increased size and wings would have probably made him somewhat less agile compared to Maiev. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 15:50, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
I saw the video of Illidan fighting Akama. That guy can MOVE. Then again... Maiev has blink. Pzychotix (talk · contr) 15:56, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

In Warcraft III, Maiev tells her Watchers not to attempt Illidan alone, since he is far more powerfull than any of them. Isn't this proof enough of Illidan's superity? --Odolwa 13:15, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes it is, but look at Illidan's fight against Arthas when he "inadvertently left himself open and Arthas took advantage of it, slicing open the demon hunter's chest" he didn't use any of the awsome powers we saw on "War of Ancients trilogy" or anything close to it and made this mistake. On the battlefield little things can make the difference even if one is fighting a more powerful foe. Azahel (talk) 20:04, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
