Hmmm... newb not as bad as noob... sound like splitting hairs, but I guess I haven't payed that much attention.

Yeah, that's how it was explained to me a long time ago and that's also what I've seen when eavesdropping on other people's conversations. When somebody wants to be insulting they'll invariably use the "noob" spelling, as in "Haha, you stupid noob!" The other spelling is most often used when the person isn't trying to be derogatory, as in "Darkmoon Faire gets more customers in Goldshire than TB because it's so close to where the newbs start out," or when referring to oneself like "I'm still a newb." But as I wrote, that's just in my own personal experience.--Illidan Rocks 16:53, 15 Nov 2005 (EST)
- Newbie: New internet user.
- Noob: One who acts like a new internet user.
A smart newbie would not beg for free money or open a trade window. They would simply RTFM or ask someone from their guild if they know where should they level up.
A noob would not even bother to be polite. He would spam "money plz" in chats etc. Noobs are lazy morons - period.
"Hunters: All members of the hunter class are, by definition, noobs." -- shouldn't this be deleted. :P
I really think this statement ("Hunters: All members of the hunter class are, by definition, noobs.") violates the neutral point of view policy (as does the whole section it appears in as far as I'm concerned). I think it should be removed. :P -- Sevok 10:03, 21 November 2006 (EST)
