Broken IslesEdit

The Northern Islands may still be the Broken Isles, and the reason for the different location may be because the Maelstrom swirling, causing islands to be rotated in the same way the Maelstrom does. --Maxisfreak315 21:38, 11 February 2007 (PST)

Fused Edit

I guess it will be more apt to change or delete the photo attached to the article, since the islands in that photo are now fused to Northrend as Daggercap Bay, a peninsula of the Howling Fjord, where Valgarde is. By the way, what happened to the article boxes and that stuff? I see them pink and white and it doesn't change when I change my skin to the original black one. It makes hard to read the blueish links... IconLarge Troll Male Ravenore , the Necroshadowmancer 05:12, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

sure? Edit

Actually I do not believe, that the Islands are really part of Howling Fjord. Nothrend on the worldmap is way far too south, but that's just because of the limited space on the map. Just zoom out to the Cosmic map, then you can see northrend way more north and the islands somewhere in between.

Just look at this map btw.

Goblin area situated on the map

There is an island on the map, north of the Maelstrom. I've been trying to read the name of the island but it's nearly impossible.. My best guess was "Hovl ????ah". Maybe that could give us a clue on the islands? --Tandria (talk) 16:47, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

As I have said, i believe they are the Strand of the Ancients 05:10, 25 March 2009 (UTC) gadget (talk)

Lost Isles Edit

These islands are the Lost Isles and will be added in Cataclysm. See: http://www.blizzard.com/blizzcon/_images/coverage/panels09/cataclysm/Image3_Zoneoverview.jpg . These pages should be merged.

No those islands are not the Lost Isles and are in completely different areas. Also sign your posts. Leviathon (talk) 07:01, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
The map is not to scale. I don't see how the Northern islands can exist now and not be the Lost Isles or buried under Northrend. Grape1 (talk) 21:33, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

The map isn't to scale but we still know the Lost Isles are off the coast of Azshara. The Northern Islands were likely the Dragon Isles that never actually made it out in vanilla WoW and are probably now no longer in existence. Leviathon (talk) 17:41, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

But the Dragon Isles have their own page. Nevertheless, I think it's far more likely the inspiration for this article is eye candy that used to be on the map. I don't think that's justification for it's own page.Grape1 (talk) 03:51, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
If they had appeared once i might agree they were eye candy just so the world look more complex and real. But they apperaed multiple times and were carried over which means they were given concious thought. Thats more than enough to merit an article.Warthok Talk Contribs 04:07, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

I still think the most likely candidate is the greater archepelego that makes up the strand of the ancients. It is south of the dragonblight, made up of multiple isles, and we can hardly expect the exact same look for ingame areas as when they are just there for looks (e.g. Gilneas getting a new shape, etc to make it usable). Anyways, i think we already have them ingame in this form. gadget (talk) 00:37, September 12, 2009 (UTC)
