where's the description of her new form come from?
The description of her new form comes from the RPG book "Shadow & Light", page 75. Her picture is place on page 76. -- Sander, 3th Jan 2005
This is just a hunch but I think Neptulon is the force behind Azshara. I think she'll turn out to be very much like a Majordomo battle where the real boss needs to be summoned. One of the big storyline problems with summoning another Elemental Lieutenant is the amount of power needed to summon one (remember the effort the dwarves had to summon ragnaros not to mention the following explosion?). Azshara is defined in the series as being incredibly strong, even stronger than all the demons except Kil'jaeden, Archimonde, and Sargerus, She would probably have the power to summon Neptulon. We already know the Old Gods or one of their emisaries was responsible for transformation of the Naga. On a final note Neputlon might prove to be an appropriate lvl 70 or 80 raid boss because Ragnaros is defined as a "mere shadow" of his true self. Neptulon being summoned through the great maelstrom might be drastically more powerful or at least a "truer" form of himself. --Darkling235, 00:03, 27 April 2006
just one problem: if she's more powerful than most demons, including most of the higher warlocks and dreadlords, wouldn't that make her more powerful than Neptulon? if only Sargeras and his genreals are stronger than her, that would mean that Neptulon would be as powerful as Archimonde or Kil'Jaeden- not something that is very likely, as each of them has the power of one Old God, or thereabouts, according to current power estimates (which are, admittedly, largely guesswork). --Ragestorm 21:14, 26 April 2006 (EDT)
I dunno. The Old Gods are stronger INDIVIDUALLY than the Titans because they are defined as the "strongest beings in the universe" individually then it might make sense for their lieutenants to be stronger than a titan though to a lesser degree(which admittedly we haven't really experienced yet because Ragnaros was a "shadow" and C'thun was the equivalent of a new and unrefined version of himself having just recently been summoned). Remember one titan alone (Sargeras) was strong enough to singlehandedly defeat the Eredar race. There ws no refernce to any difficult with this in point of fact the story claims his powers were "more than enough", where there is a refernce to a terrible war between the Titans and the Old Gods. Admittedly Sargerus was not involved in this since he had already fallen but it seems odd there could be THAT much of a power gap between him and the rest of the pantheon.--Darkling235 08:38, 27 April 2006 (EDT)

Like I said, a power scale has not been defined. Also, in "the Sundering" Krasus says that the Dragon Aspects as whole are a match for the Old Gods, which implies that the Titans are more than powerful enough to handle them. Getting back to Azshara though, I think she's be about as powerful as one of the Brothers Stormrage or Tyrande, even fueled by the Old Gods. --Ragestorm 08:53, 28 April 2006 (EDT)
Newer commentary about stats
- The stats in Shadows & Light give a defined power scale. Neptulon is substantially more powerful than Azshara. Egrem 22:25, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
- I got Shadows and Light today, and while several of Neptulon's stats are higher, Azshara's challenge rating is 52 while Neptulon's is 50.--Austin P 19:32, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- The challenge ratings are often inaccurate (particularly with regards to the elemental lords and dragon aspects). Neptulon is more than twice Azshara's level, has almost triple her hit points, double her armor class... her spells have only a 10% chance to affect him, and he saves against them 95% of the time (whereas she has only a 5% chance to save against his abilities)... there's no contest here. - As far as WoW it looks like the requirements to take on the Lich King will be level 80, where as Queen Azshara will have to wait for another higher level expansion if she is to appear in the game.Baggins 09:09, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

If I had to guess, I would say that Azshara would still come out in WotLK, but just in a patch. Also, maybe they'll add in a new instance with Azshara as the boss with less "strength" to beat? Or is that not what Blizz does? Just thinking that maybe it would take raid of highly geared 80s to kill Lich King, but maybe if they added Azshara in the game before it comes out, or just in a patch, maybe she'll take a smaller raid or less geared people to take down. It might be important to point out that she may have rose to power of Eternal even before she was transformed into a naga;

Empress, not queen
I think that Empress Azshara is more suitable to be the article name since she is not queen of the kaldorei anymore, but Empress of Najatar and the naga. What do you think?Dakovski (talk) 16:44, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

- The most appropriate name would simply be Azshara, as she is shown to have a pathological obsession with her own name. Sources more consistently refer to her as Azshara or Queen Azshara than Empress Azshara, which I believe only occurs in the RPG (correct me if I'm wrong on that one). --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 01:33, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Description of Azshara
It looks like there are at least three descriptions of Azshara. One picture has her with 4 tentacles. One describes her with 5 tentacles. One statue has her with a snake body. Rolandius
