Does it seem likely that Saurfang would own this? BobNamataki (talk) 13:34, November 12, 2009 (UTC)

Death knight tanks

Hrm, I changed the information on the page for Shadowmourne. Before it said; "favours Plate DPS classes and builds" - it has not been stated whether or not it favours DPS builds. Death Knight Tanks may find a use for it. - ShifteGnome.

While it may favor DK tanks, it also favors three different dps classes. I think it should say"favours Plate DPS classes and builds" mainly because it does favor them, even if you can use it for something else. IconSmall Dwarf MalePaladinOkolorionTalk Contribs 02:54, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

Communion with the Lich King

Just discovered this page existed. Probably would have helped to have access to it before posting my original revision, which was deleted in full without explanation. Leaving the post below for you guys to help shape. I'd like to see it revised so we can post this information to the page. Thanks for the support :)

If you took those quotes on MMO-Champion or World of Raid, this video is obtained by datamining game content (Shadowmourne is not obtainable on the PTR (as far as I know))
If Shadowmourne becomes obtainable to players on the PTR, then you can post the quotes and your link to the Ashbringer.

Artifact

Is it really an artifact? All other pages say it's legendary TheSatyr (talk) 20:07, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

Legendary only. No artifact are obtainable by players.

Yet. TherasTaneel (talk) 21:10, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
Or ever. In one of their interviews (can't remember which or when) they stated Legendary was about as high as they're willing to go for players to actually receive and that something ever seen as an Artifact would be almost unfair to players cause it would be so exclusive that only one person on the server would EVER be able to obtain. mechanics

Added in a mechanics section, as I do more testing I will update it to be more accurate, if any DK's or pallys have this and would like to confirm/fix the list of abilities that their class can get fragments from that would be wonderful. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Thegreatme (talk · contr).

It looks like any ability that actually hits with Shadowmourne can generate a soul fragment; I'm not sure we really need a complete list of every ability that does weapon damage in the article. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 19:30, June 11, 2010 (UTC)

Class Restrictions

Although Shadowmourne can only be wielded by Death Knights, Paladins, and Warriors, can the quest chain itself be completed by other classes for the sake of lore, achievement, and additional quest count for the Inv chest cloth 30 [Loremaster's Colors]? Oh and the Inv ingot 04 [Sealed Chest]? I ask because the Thunderfury and Sulfuras chains could be completed by all classes in classic WoW but the weapons not wielded by everyone.AhotahThunderhorn (talk) 19:56, June 11, 2010 (UTC)

Only paladins, death knights, and warriors can take the Shadowmourne quest chain. The same was also true of the Thunderfury quest chain, which was limited to paladins, rogues, hunters, and warriors. Sulfuras has neither a quest chain associated with it nor a class requirement on the weapon itself. The Sealed Chest can only be looted by players with Shadowmourne (I believe), but as the contents are not BoP they can be distributed at will. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 20:44, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
I call shenanigans... only 3 classes allowed access to 5 exclusive items at the very end of this chain when they could either keep and make a nice profit from... and I mean a NICE profit. SnakeSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3For Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 20:59, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
Well, like I said, I'm not entirely sure on that point. I know it only drops if someone in the raid has Shadowmourne, but I've heard conflicting reports on whether it's a regular loot drop or if it can be looted ONLY by the person with Shadowmourne and that person then gets to distribute the contents to whoever else in the raid wants it. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 21:05, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
