Referring to WoW Events

We don't know what is canon and what isn't in Warcraft lore. Consider, for example, that Mograine Jr. in the Scarlet Monastery is killed as part of three separate questlines. Also, the phrases "agent of the Horde" and "agent of the Alliance" is extremely vague. It's much clearer and less presumptuous just to refer to game events explicitly.--Aeleas 11:10, 18 December 2006 (EST)

Let's be realistic. Danath did not mentioned Galen at all. Also, being one-faction major quest chain (that leads to his death), we have a very good reason to belive that his death is canon. Regards, --Theron the Just 07:24, 20 December 2006 (EST)

Danath's failure to mention his nephew neither confirms or denies Galen's death. Whether or not Galen is dead, Stromgarde still sucks to live in, and Danath would want to correct that. Also, I would hardly consider the quest chain that results in Galen's death to be a major one. From what I understand of WoWWiki policy, and what most people seem to agree on, is that if there is a quest line in WoW that kills an NPC, this should be noted in the article. HOWEVER, it should not be stated as fact that the NPC is dead. There are a few exceptions, but generally, until events relating to quests in WoW have been confirmed by another source, they should not be considered canon. --Mikaka 17:21, 23 December 2006 (EST)
I agree with Mikala. My edits, in my view, told the reader exactly what we know and what to expect in WoW, and nothing more. The version that the article has been reverted to by Theron is much more speculative, PoV, and unhelpful in distinguishing what occurs in WoW and what is backstory (a rather important, practical consideration).
Even if we accept Galen's death as canon, it remains to be seen how WoW events will be incorporated. I raised this issue a few months ago, here. I think this is an area which definitely requires community discussion and a guideline or policy.--Aeleas 20:32, 23 December 2006 (EST)

Agreed, this is more discussion on this in Ragestorm's talk page if your interested. Its in archive 4 I believe.Baggins 20:36, 23 December 2006 (EST)
