Discussion about 'the end' section
Edit
"movemented" isn't a word; I can't for the life of me figure out what the editor was trying to say, but looks like hes a mod, and i'm scared shitless to edit it myself =P
I wanted to add the following quotes as well (Tseric's), but I couldn't figure out how to stick it in there. [1]
"Understand that this moment will be fleeting, and that there is a hard crash of self-esteem to follow. You'll try to feed it again, and fill the void, but it will never be enough. You've backpeddled into the troll excuse. You have no point. You have no meaning. You have no significance. You will be forgotten.
Godspeed."
It would give readers a greater understanding about how Tseric went out fighting with both fists.
There's also this quote I would like to add, as part of the "his final feelings about the job" section: (same citation as above)
"Can't help it.
Posting impassionately, they say you don't care.
Posting nothing, they say you ignore.
Posting with passion, you incite trolls.
Posting fluff, you say nonsense.
Post with what facts you have, they whittle down with rationale.
There is no win.
There is only slow degredation.
Take note. It is the first and only time you'll see someone in my position make that position.
You can be me when I'm gone."
But would that be too much information? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pyro789x (talk · contr).
- The page already has this thread on there. I'll look into expanding it more deeply tomorrow, at the moment its nearly 6am and I should go to bed ><
- I protected the page because of the recent happenings and to prevent any vandalism, by the way. --Adys 03:30, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- Also something else, I'm French but don't be scared by editing the page =P --Adys 03:32, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Discussion about Tseric's quotes
Edit
I noticed that somebody edited some of Tseric's quotes to emphasize certain words with bold text, and to fix some spelling and grammatical errors. I strongly recommend against editing quotes, as they should reflect what the person said, not what they should have said or you would have liked them to say. (Pyro 05:34, 18 May 2007 (UTC))
- The bold words are already emphasised in the source text. Kirkburn talk contr 14:11, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry, I didn't know that. (Pyro 14:32, 18 May 2007 (UTC))
If nobody cites the source for Coreiel's quote in 3 days or so, I'm just going to remove it. Pyro 00:52, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- I've been having a search around - it seems Coreiel's post no longer exists, though it is quoted in several people's signatures. Kirkburn talk contr 12:42, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Tseric was the coolest and brightest CM's we had, too bad he left.. He will be missed, and I wish him the best for the future! -Mikale@Frostwhisper-EU
Discussion about the "Other CMs on Tseric" section
Edit
Coreriel(sp?) isn't actually a CM, she's just a moderator; She doesn't relay information between devs and the community, just deletes posts and such. Should we change the name of the section to something more appropriate, or is that too nit-picky? Pyro 14:50, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- Good point! I've changed it to something more accurate. Kirkburn talk contr 15:03, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
Discussion about Tseric's "popping enrage" comment
Edit
Sure it wasn't the most positive of things, or the best way to remember him, but I bet in the future, once all of this blows over, most people will be wiki-ing Tseric to learn more about that infamous "pop enrage" comment, and the story behind it, and why people keep saying "just pop enrage" when they hear of Tseric. I think somebody should add in a section about that. Pyro 15:34, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Well? Anybody up to the task? Pyro 00:52, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Page Layout Issue
Edit
I don't know if it's only with my browser (firefox), but in my screen, the little box with Tseric's picture in it forced the [edit] option for the first secton ( Other Blizzard employees on Tseric ) down right next to the [edit] option for the second section ( A memorable end ) so it looks like "the end" section has two edit options, and the "other blizzard" has none. Does anyone else see this? How do we go about fixing it? Pyro 15:43, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Describing post-departure reactions.
Edit
There was debate. People are divided about it, with some even seeing merits to both "sides," including at WoW Insider's comment section. Let's not try to present any large group as definitely being "for" either "side" unless (as is the case with WoW Insider) they have editorial staff (bloggers) expressing unanimous opinions? It really seems as if a somewhat false dichotomy is being formed of players' reactions. Shem 19:21, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- The community is against this!
- =P Pyro 19:31, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- It's quite obvious. Sane players think this whole debacle is stupid. Shamans are happy to see him go... oh wait I'm a shaman... crap... nevermind. ^^ TeжubԎ Ҩ Ѡ 20:21, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Tbh, I think the section is okay as it is atm (minus the generalisations of poster views). The section is balanced, and people can go looking at the links to see more. Kirkburn talk contr 20:58, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- The only problem is that the links for the forum pages link directly to the forums, so people won't be able to check those forever.. and places like BlueTracker don't track 'white' posts. Pyro 22:38, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Discussion about sources for community reactions
Edit
While trying to find Coreiel's quote about Tseric on other websites, I stumbled across another forum with more opinions on Tseric and his leaving. [3] I'm wondering if we should add this to the 'reactions' portion, or if what we have gives a big enough cross-section of the internet responses already. Pyro 14:02, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Skinning bears
Edit
It should be noted that the meme-like phrases that follow the theme of "(verb)ing a (noun) should aggro every (noun)s" are actually a reference to a wildly popular, if grammatically lacking, post by a user (the original, of course, being the unforgettable "skinning a bear should aggro every bears"). The way the article is laid out currently leads one to believe that Tseric invented or popularized this meme, which is not the case.Coreiel (talk) 06:56, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
