Splitting?
The purpose of this article is because it's supposed to be the full Warcraft II Manual, without any splitting or such. I don't see why it should be split, except for the large size and length (the latter is intended since the manual isn't that short either) --gOurra 19:48, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- While vague, I think he ment to have a table of contents page, with links to each section as a subpage.--SWM2448 19:49, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- You mean for example writing this at the top: "See Warcraft II manual/Subpages to see a breakdown of chapters."?--gOurra 23:09, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- I was going for making each section a separate page, with this page having links to all of them. Like the Newbie guide.--SWM2448 23:11, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- I know what you mean, but I'd like to keep the article as it is now and make a note at the top linking to such a page you suggest.--gOurra 01:44, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, didn't read it enough. Yes, that looks like a good idea. Problem is, though, that there's not much to put up as a first page; it's more or less just the template that fits there.--gOurra 02:13, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
<undent> Personally, I like that all the information is on this page; it won't be edited anyway, so why split the information up? I would request that the information from the bnet manual for the expac (at least, the lore) be included on this page. --Sky (t | c | w) 02:23, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I don't have either the bnet or expansion manuals (yet), so I'd have to go and buy them. Please note that I started this article and I intend to be the one to finish it.--gOurra 02:31, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you, I'll take a look at it.--gOurra 13:09, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Fair use
Unfortunately we also have a fair use issue here, we really should specifically request permission from Blizzard before we copy the entire manual. Even though perhaps replacement docs got permission doesn't mean wowwiki received permission.Baggins 05:55, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
- Good point. By the way, I found the link to the Battle.net edition manual: http://www.replacementdocs.com/download.php?view.2109
- From a quick glance, it looks just like the Tides of Darkness manual. --

Do we need computer-related stuff?
Do we really need all the stuff about "Getting Started on the IBM-PC", "Troubleshooting on the IBM-PC", "Getting Started on the Macintosh" and "Contacting Technical Support"? I think we should concentrate on gameplay oriented info and maybe the credits. --

- I'd have to agree, It nice when doing a copy of a manual, to have an exact copy...but there can be some limits to it.

Deletion vote
Deletion was only winning by 3-to-1 for a long time and I added my Keep vote to make it 3-to-2. Gourra made dramatic changes, so I decided to just call it a Keep and let people re-evaluate it.

Source appears to be the UK edition
I looked through the removed material which includes support info and it mentions ZABLAC Entertainment for additional support which doesn't appear as part of the US edition, but seems to be the UK distributor (and perhaps other European editions). --

- You are correct - the manual I followed (which is a "real life" one) came with the European edition since I live in Europe.--gOurra[T҂C] 16:37, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Horde
I was wondering why the allience part is so nicly done and there are nothing about the Horde units?
Just wonder
