Talk:WoWBench

This is wonderful! I haven't installed it yet, but I have been looking for a tool like this for quite some time. I tend to do a lot of development on my addons when I am at work not doing anything, but the problem is I can't just fire up WoW at work. Awesome! --Cisox 08:06, 1 September 2006 (EDT)

Dev plans? Edit

Any development plans for 2.0/TBC? This is an awesome app and I would love to be able to continue testing my WoW lua using this. Radruler 19:04, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

Is WoWBench dead? The SVN repository hasn't been updated in 7 months. Morac 13:40, 7 June 2007 (EDT)

Maybe it's time... Edit

To put a moratorium on WoW Bench. It hasn't been updated in a very long time. It's not very 2.0 compliant, and it certainly isn't patch 3.0 compliant. There's a difference between "haven't got around to it" and "meh we're pretty much giving up on it".

I can't say I blame the authors of WoW bench for doing so; WoW has changed significantly since version 1.XX, and it seems like every time they implement something new, something has to be dramatically changed to compensate it. You would think Blizzard would understand the idea of LEGACY SUPPORT.

Regardless, if they were to update WoW Bench to version 3.0 (or dare I say 3.1), they would probably need to completely rewrite the entire thing. What WOULD be nice is if the community could get an IDE in the same niche as WoW Bench that can also compile lua files into WoW API .pub files. --Abdalazrad (talk) 07:58, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
