I know, it's all relative. But I know how to see whether the world really gets bigger or (and I know this is crazy, I know that you'll probably want to institutionalize me for even SUGGESTING such a thing) the engineer just shrinks.

We have to get one of those Draenei spaceships (or whatever) and watch Azeroth from orbit! Or we could just ask a Titan to observe the planet for us. Then we get somebody to use the device and our observers from outer space could monitor any changes in the size of the world.

Since the ship is part of the "world" in a way too it would get enlarged too, making no difference.
