Can someone add these to the main page and add some suitable captions? I think the hairy beast might be a gorloc. --  Shandris  talk / contribs 08:08, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Done. We have the first one fron BlizzCon. All this art seems cluttered.--SWM2448 18:17, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Doubt the hairy thing is a Gorloc. They are artic murlocs not mutated things :p Leviathon 00:00, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
It kind of resembles a furbolg.... User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 01:25, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Looks like a cross between a Gnoll and a rock to me.--SWM2448 01:33, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Seems like a thing we will see in Ulduar and will likely have some connection to the Troggs. Going by this due to its hand seeming to be made partly of rock and its posture and body looking a lot like a Trogg. Leviathon 02:56, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

To me it looks lie a quilboar. The main picture on the quilboar page looks almost the same as this one, weapon in left hand, some kind of sheild on the other, large belly, snout...Aliron 19:52, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Considering how many races originated, are also in or have offshoots in Northrend that would seem pretty possible. Leviathon 21:28, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
The undead shark looks more like a dolphin to me. --JarHed 02:04, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

I'd rather say you can tell by the tail that it's a dolphin. Also note the bottlenose. ---- Varghedin Varghedin  talk / contribs 17:13, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

New news on Attunement

Been a while everyone!

Eyonix has recently commented on a thread about the elimination of Kara Atttunement in 2.4, where he also discussed the possibility of a new kind of instance keying feature for Wrath of the Lich King: Blizzard is considering guild and/or account attunements, meaning if your guild and/or account has completed the keying quest once, the entire guild and/or all your account's characters will also automatically be keyed.

The source is here. I'll post up the info in the Dungeons section of the article and someone help me cite. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=4976329321&sid=1&pageNo=1#16 -- Zexx 00:37, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Would it still be possible to do the quests anyway? ive read theres an item that transforms you into a Broken and is part of the quest line. would i be able to do the quest to that point and still be attoned from the guild/account? --KingStoph 16:25, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm sure the quests will remain and a title will be rewarded as what was done with last time they did this. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 22:23, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

New Dances

And ideas what there gonna be? Ive a few ideas.

Male Undead = Thriller.
Male Night Elf = Moonwalk.
Female Tauren = Line Dancing of some form.

Any ideas? --KingStoph 04:02, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Is there any specific reasons you chose these dances? To me it looks like you took a few dances you liked and assigned them to random races. And I don't think Blizzard wants more than one dance based on Michael Jackson. --Aliron 19:45, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Aliron, what made you choose those dances? Blizzard uses dances from popular movies and not from some lousy transvestite. --  Shandris  talk / contribs 10:59, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Hoi, careful with those words. Kirkburn  talk  contr 12:27, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Didn't mean anything against him, but I'm just saying that would be an aweful lot of input from just one source. Aliron 21:48, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

I'd like the male Night Elves to do the moon walk (for the sake of a pun) --The last Alterac 12:15, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

From Wikipedia: Uh, What?

This is listed towards the top of the WotLK article on Wikipedia:

It is confirmed by Blizzard that theres a teleportation ability granted to all players who clear the instance Utgarde Keep, and succesfully kill Arthas The Lich King.

This was obviously posted by a complete idiot, but it bears asking: Has there been any rumor of this sort? I doubt it, but I would like someone who actually has a brain to put this one to rest. --Joshmaul 09:10, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Never heard of it. Kirkburn  talk  contr 12:25, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Same here...doesn't make sense either, Utgard Keep is the first Northrend instance (I think), so no need for a reward...And we don't get teleporting from killing Illidan. Where did it say we teleport to, anyways?Aliron 21:48, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Factions (Rep grinds)

From looking at and editing the Blizzcon images I can say with almost certainty at least some of the factions we will see so far in Northrend.

  • Kalu'ak , with the Tuskarr which was already given,
  • Taunka, a horde only faction similar to the Mag'har on Outland so more than likely Alliance will have some race only friendly to them such as possibly a faction of Iron Dwarves or maybe the Explorers' League will just be that.
  • Grizzlemaw, right next to Grizzlemaw on the Grizzly Hills image is a neautral town. Since they are under siege from the Drakkari I could see them enlisting aid to fight them. Maybe Grizzlemaw has been taken over by the Drakkari due to Grizzlemaw being labeled as a mob camp.
  • Red Dragonflight with a town in Borean Tundra and likely Wyrmrest Temple controlled by them as its a neautral base.
  • Sundered Monolith possibly if the northern town in Dragonblight is that with a faction of Nerubians with a town inside Azjol'Nerub also likely.

Just a fun bit of speculating on my part. Leviathon 21:42, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Add it to here. I do not know about Sundered Monolith...--SWM2448 21:45, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
The location of the neutral town in the north due to its proximity to Azjol-Nerub would make it seem likely that it is Sundered Monolith. Then again since its by the location of the gate to Ice Crown I could see that town also maybe being whatever group is aiding in opening the gate which could be the Order of the Silverhand or even the Scarlet Onslaught. Guess that town will remain a mystery a bit longer. Leviathon 21:52, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Added Malygos and the Blue Dragonflight to Factions and Races, please rewrite it if you can make up a better way to put it. Chaos of Warcraft (talk) 14:00, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Transportation boats

According to the new Blizzard Insider issue, we will have Giant turtle vessels; sounds really cool, and they have always been in concept.

They were in Warcraft II, and are seen dead in WoW.--SWM2448 21:45, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Except we already know travel is going to be by zep (horde) and ship (alliance), infact that vid trailer showed the alliance ship being of a different design.. much like a steam boat. So we may see giant turtle boats in the game (one day - maybe with the undermine xpak) I don't think we'll be using it as transportation to northrend. And could you link this article, if its new, its not on the main page. In patch 2.4.3, currently in the PTRs, NPCs from the stonecutters guild have been added to the small section of Stormwind between the Park and the Cathedral Square. It seems they are working on building a way into Stormwind Harbor, as they say when talked to. It could mean that in fact, the Alliance is getting a new port to travel to Northrend, instead of adding new boats to Theramore/Menethil. Source: [1]--Morgaur (talk) 16:34, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

The Half Shell
In Wrath-Logo-Small βeta, turtle boats have been added to go between three Tuskarr coastal villages (Unu'pe, Borean Tundra; Moa'ki Harbor, Dragonblight; and Kamagua, Howling Fjord).

"public beta has been announced"

Can we get the reference to this, please? I've been checking around and I haven't seen any official announcement. ~My rage bar is blue and I start the fight pissed - Peregrine 12:56, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Beta

With the new Frostmourne Art Contest its stated that you could win a spot in the WOTLK Beta. I'm not sure where you would want this enter on this page so I decided not to add it. So I guess what I am saying is that there is a confirmed beta. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Yelmurc (talk · contr).

WotLK leak

You might have heard, a lot of info was leaked from the Alpha. It has talents and spells, zone info, death knight stuff, and everything. Do we want to post it on wikipedia? As far as we know, it is the most up to date information, not fake or anything. I don't see whats wrong with posting it even if it will most likely get changed some time in the future. Pumus (talk) 00:35, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

One, post at the bottom next time. Two, WW:DNP says we don't touch anything leaked, else Blizzard contacts us and says "take it down or we come and beat you". --Sky (t · c · w) 00:37, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Except that Blizz can't do anything, I really do not understand why we can't post them, what can they do? Nada. Pumus (talk) 01:03, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Bottom line is, WoWwiki does not post alpha content. That's all that matters. Please respect that, and wait till release (or at least beta). User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 01:08, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
They can take away our status as an official fan site (we get a link from the community site).--SWM2448 01:32, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Which, I must stress, they have done in the past. Aside from that, any number of things could change from alpha to closed beta to open beta to actual release. Heck, Garona was in the open beta of WoW, but removed! In other words, it isn't safe, from a Professional, PR or lore standpoint to post. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 01:35, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Plus I'm FAIRLY certain they could sue you guys if they REALLY got pissed off at you. ~My rage bar is blue and I start the fight pissed - Peregrine 14:19, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
A cease-and-desist order is more likely, there's no money in a lawsuit. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 16:29, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

The likely hood Blizzard would actually bother taking a site to court over the things being posted is highly unlikely. But for official fan sites such as this it would cost the site its official fan site tag and ruin relationships with Blizzard. Talking about minor things in talk pages probably wouldn't even get noticed by Blizzard but posting it in a actual article would. Leviathon (talk) 01:39, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

The font on this page is different.  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 02:23, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Arugal was already confirmed in at least a few of those big reports back in April. He's raised from the dead by the Lich King and brought back to Northrend as a servant, and will be found somewhere around the Grizzly Hills. WoWWiki-Suzaku (talk) 13:23, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
I think the font is "all funny" because this page has gotten so long that the font size has been reduced to keep it from becoming incredibly long. ~My rage bar is blue and I start the fight pissed - Peregrine 17:47, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Dungeon sets and PvP sets

The BlizzCast Episode 3 told us that the 10-man sets and the 25-man sets whould have similar models with varying texture, but the PvP sets whould have an unique look. Also, they say the current plan is to have 3 diferent PvP sets at the release, one equeal with the Heroic dungeon set, one equeal to the 10-man and one equeal to the 25-man. Could someone with access write this on the page? Thank you in advance. Chaos of Warcraft (talk) 17:27, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

A rumor

My friend told me that he heard a rumor that they were going to reintroduce the Scourge Invasion event at the release of WotLK. Could anyone verify this, and, if so, could I add it to a speculation portion of the page? Thanks  Bill I AM BILL AND I AM A TAUREN HUNTER! (talk - contr - web)

WoWWiki is not a forum. Even if it would be verified, it would be considered alpha leaks and that's under heavy NDA. Rumors does not belong on the WoWWiki. g0urra[T҂C] 18:37, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Many sites talk about an 'event' that will happen before launch, but they leave it ambiguous. A speculation page would be hard to regulate, both because there are so many possible possibilities, and an on the money guess could and would be taken as alpha info (or the inverse, alpha info could and would be weaseled in under the guise of a guess).--SWM2448 18:41, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

To expand upon my own comment, it is stated in the article that there are plans to build upon the Scourge Invasion and include a similar event in a future patch. Perhaps 3.0.1...?  Bill I AM BILL AND I AM A TAUREN HUNTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (talk - contr - web)

I do doubt they would use an old event... If anything it will be unqiue like how they did it for BC. Oh.. and DScharff24, you should really not use red for your links... makes it appear broken. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 18:44, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Very true, good idea (for both statements respectively). I was even going to change my signature for that reason :P Bill I AM BILL AND I AM A TAUREN HUNTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (talk - contr - web)

In Wrath-Logo-Small βeta, there is no obvious world event so far on the test servers. The starting instanced gameplay for Death Knights includes participating in something like a Scourge invasion event. --Gengar orange 22x22 Fandyllic (talk · contr) 11:59 AM PST 15 Aug 2008

Public Beta

The link referenced by this comment does not say anything about a public beta.

It mentions that the winner will be in 'the beta' but this could be a private beta which has been done before.

So saying that this is an announcement of a public beta is incorrect, and any comment about a public beta is pure speculation at this time. --WoWWiki-Dga (talk) 21:18, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

It really depends on what you want to call Blizzards betas. There will be a beta though still probably a couple weeks or so after the WWI. Blizzards beta is more like a closed beta since the only way to get in it is through fansites, getting a code from a event or random invites. Leviathon (talk) 23:42, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Speartusk Faction

Wikipedia has writen that there is a new facion called the Speartusks. This is probably incorect, no other sources, not even wowwiki, have any information of such a faction at all. Chaos of Warcraft (talk) 12:03, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

There is no Speartusk faction in the Alpha faction DBC file so like many things on Wikipedia its false. Leviathon (talk) 23:40, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Nothing called speartusk or speartusks in Wrath-Logo-Small βeta so far. The way it is described in the horrible Wikipedia article makes it sound like they mean Tuskarr. Also, I would be shocked if Wikipedia had as much or as up-to-date info on anything in World of Warcraft when compared to WoWWiki. If you find anything please post it here. I suspect most of it will be out-of-date or innacurate. They shouldn't add info from beta players because it can't be cited to web or written sources. We actually trust that if several βeta players agree on it in an article we can accept it as true. We also know that some of our admins are actually playing the beta (like me), so we can verify most claims. Wikipedia doesn't allow "original research", but in some cases we do. --Gengar orange 22x22 Fandyllic (talk · contr) 12:16 PM PST 15 Aug 2008

Intriguing

The official Blizzard homepage have some kind of picture before the actual page shows up. The image is of some ice with cracks, and each day the picture change, the cracks get bigger and the light gets brighter. I smell release date. Chaos of Warcraft (talk) 19:26, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Blizzard would not announce a release date for a game before its even in Beta. It's a new game announcement. Leviathon (talk) 04:49, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Hmmm, didn't think about that... But I think its a bit wierd that there would be a new game with similar theme, i.e. the ice. Looks just like the artwork-ice for WotLK IMHO. Chaos of Warcraft (talk) 08:23, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Well, the company is called BLIZZARD after all. Makes sense that the teaser for a new game announcement would be ice-themed. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 13:06, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

True. But it could be some other WotLK-realted thing, or even Starcraft. Also, today I think it looks like eyes have appeared in there... Chaos of Warcraft (talk) 15:30, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

There is currently a debate raging on the WotLK forums. So far, speculated possibilities as to who those eyes belong to are: The Lich King, Malygos, Diablo, a Hydralisk, a Protoss, and a Zerg-Protoss Hybrid. Some think it's announcing the release date of StarCraft 2, some think it's announcing Diablo III, some think it's announcing WotLK Beta. ~My rage bar is blue and I start the fight pissed - Peregrine 06:51, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

I reckon it's something very big related to Wrath of the Lich King. The eyes seem like that of Arthas. That's my two cents *shrugs* Warchiefthrall (talk) 09:43, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Either my browser's acting up or it's an ad for Diablo III. I first saw the ice and eyes, and then I got redirected to a page with a fairly obvious title image for Diablo III. --Super Bhaal (talk) 10:39, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Nope, it's not your browser. I just did the exact same thing two seconds ago and I got an ad for Diablo 3. So that this solved then :) Warchiefthrall (talk) 10:46, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

They just revealed the coming of Diablo 3 on Worldwide Invitational, yes. Those bastards was just fooling around with us... Chaos of Warcraft (talk) 11:05, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Eh, I don't know. Seeing as how Warcraft's required their constant attention since before the third RTS game even came out ( didn't they release trailers for WoW in, like, 2001? ) and all, it's kind of neat that they're ( finally ) paying attention to their other products. --Super Bhaal (talk) 17:16, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

They should all already be added to each class page. If i've missed any though, you can safely add them there under the the WotLK Changes header near the bottom. Death Knight starting area to be Northern Plaguelands

According to World of Raids Q&A, DKs will have their own starting area and it will NOT be EPL. WWI Q&A The question is, "What changes will you make in the old world, specifically filling in areas that are blank." Truhan (talk) 16:48, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

I watched the panel myself and wrote out notes for it. It was not Northern Plaguelands. Serveral sites are manking similar and other mistakes. All their summaries seen to differ on many facts. There's also the fact that i (and probably many others) know it's not in Northern Plaguelands. -- Zeal (T/C)  20:36, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Okay, thanks for the clarification. Truhan (talk) 21:19, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Messy. Northern Plaguelands? No. It will be EPL, just east of Tyr's Hand, like Blizzard said at WWI. It might count as its own zone in terms of chat channel (at least the instanced version should), but the non-instanced version probably will just be a set of subzones in EPL. ---- Varghedin Varghedin  talk / contribs 11:20, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I'd love love love to see some underwater combat, maybe with these new siege weapons? Underwater mounts, advanced water combat, all that fun stuff. Maybe even combat on boats? Well, you cant say for certain that Great Sea Xpack will come after this, its not that they have announced it or anything. Theres Elemental Plane and Emerald Dream, too, and i think it would be a bit silly to start killing pirates and do quests in undermine just after going to war with the undead in Northrend. Saying it is the one after this one implies a fact. While it is likely, that needs citation.--SWM2448 17:32, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
They'd have to fix all the targeting and the way it works underwater first. AoE spells require you to target the spot to which you attack, and while underwater it tries to target the land far far below... unless you're on the surface of course. Then of course the Non targeting abilities, Summons, portals, traps, etc, that appear in random locations "nearby" you rather than the correct spot. I'd love to see them make an underwater expansion next... especially if i can finish and post my expansion ideas and they use them. But at the same time, they could just as easily develop an on-azeroth/off-azeroth pattern for them. If you take that into consideration, then an off-azeroth expansion would be next (i.e. emerald dream)

Would larger raids from TBC and maybe even WoW have 10-man versions like the WotLK Northrend raids? User:DScharff24/Sig 17:08, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

They stated they have no plans to change any current TBC instances/raids. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 19:59, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

BUT they have said they want to, but its only on the "to do list" yet. Chaos of Warcraft (talk) 20:01, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Azjol Nerub

Why have you removed Azjol Nerub from zones and their level? I have heard nothing of it not being a questing zone. Source please. Chaos of Warcraft (talk) 09:46, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

The Beta is the source. Leviathon (talk) 09:53, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

The Patch Notes? Chaos of Warcraft (talk) 09:54, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Even so, I think it should be on the list, Lake Wintergrasp is on it even though its a PvP zone. Chaos of Warcraft (talk) 09:57, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

It is still a zone on the world map. Azjol-Nerub is just a instance now in the Pit of Narjun in Dragonblight by Icemist Village. Leviathon (talk) 09:58, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

okey, but lets put it back when/if we know its a zone. Chaos of Warcraft (talk) 10:01, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Dalaran's old spot

It says on the page that Dalaran Crater has a purple shield still around it. Or did it mean that Dalaran had a purple shield around it?  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 07:14, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

From what I saw from some vids, the shield is still there... but not as strong as before. Like you can barely see it, and mostly able to walk through it, but it's not completely gone. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 20:08, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh I see. So you will be able to sort of explore into the crater?  Rolandius Wc3Knight (talk - contr) 01:33, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Maybe... and if you're able to enter, then I'm sure there will be a way to exit. Not much to explore though... just dirt and purple slime. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 02:20, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Check my screenshots on the Dalaran page. The shield's kinda there but mostly transparent and entirely able to walk through. No, there's nothing in the pit but a very long fall and a few paths back to the surface. --k_d3 06:20, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
What I'm curious about is what of the mobs in the area... Did they become neutral (so that the quests can still be done), or are they still hostile to the horde? Still hostile to the Horde... Frowney I visited them with my undead DK. --Gengar orange 22x22 Fandyllic (talk · contr) 4:02 PM PST 15 Aug 2008
Ya, and will part of Cross Island be revealed? Also, Blizzard or someone said "something cool" will be left behind in that spot.  Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 05:49, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
That something cool is the crater with purple goo and floating objects. User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 05:56, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
That is the "something cool" part? It might be interesting to see but I am not sure if it is something cool. Sorta like they said Quel'danas Isle will be a "cool place to hang out".  Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 06:02, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Well everyone has their own definition of "cool". User:CoobraSssssssssssssssssssssssss User:CoobraFor Pony! {TDon't hiss at me.CIf you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.) 06:04, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Crystal Golems

So uh what's the deal with them, will they be featured in WotLK, or will they become one of the elusive creatures never to be seen in WoW?  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 18:16, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Crystalsong Forest and Storm Peaks are not yet open so they may appear there :p Leviathon (talk) 17:59, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
The latest I saw, the population of Crystalsong Forest was still to be added, but most of the zone was accessible. --Gengar orange 22x22 Fandyllic (talk · contr) 4:03 PM PST 15 Aug 2008

Enchanting via AH

I heard that Blizzard announced that they are "still planning" to make a way for Enchanters to put enchantments into the AH, like they are going to do with Inscription. It might or might not be true; Blizzard's said they've been "planning" to do a lot of things, like an expansion with the Emerald Dream, but they haven't done any of those yet. Felindre

Inscription can make a parchment that enchanters can 'enchant'. They can then sell or give away that enchanted parchment and then all that person has to do is right click it and put it on their armor/weapon. Leviathon (talk) 18:01, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
That method would actually work pretty well. Felindre (talk) 14:27, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Yup, see [Bleached Parchment] as one of the first low level enchantable parchments. --Gengar orange 22x22 Fandyllic (talk · contr) 4:06 PM PST 15 Aug 2008

Alliance Forces

There is something that I don't understand, Orcs & Forsaken are from the Horde!, Dalaran will be a natural city, Kinghts of silverhand is just a faction! Is there any forces from Alliance? --Rogerdavies (talk) 23:20, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

The faction section is a bit outdated. See Faction#Northrend for better info. CogHammer Ose talk/3721 00:24, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Crystalsong Forest a zone?

According to the Crystalsong Forest page, this area counts as a zone in the beta, and it has got its own map. Will the zone serve as an entrance to Dalaran with no enemies (like Moonglade)? It should be mentioned under "Zones and their planned levels", but if there are monsters in the zone, what are their planned levels? ~JBF~ 14:27, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

I didn't see any mobs there yet, but I suspect they will be in the low to mid 70s. Supposedly the quest to get to Dalaran for non-Mages is offered at level 74. In the central western part of the zone is a Teleport to Dalaran Crystal wich can be used to get to Dalaran presumably after the quest is completed or in the course of the quest. I got our helpful Kaydeethree to portal me to Dalaran with his 77 gnome mage and then I was allowed (at level 70 and 71) to get the N [74] Learning to Leave and Return: the Magical Way quest to use the Teleport to Ruins under Dalaran Crystal to get down to Crystalsong and back up. --Gengar orange 22x22 Fandyllic (talk · contr) 4:12 PM PST 15 Aug 2008

Trailer

In the trailer, the Undead surround the guy and then you see he is a death knight. Does it really happen that fast "a la Michael Jackson" in Thriller?  Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 01:40, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

I think that symbolizes "desperate times call for desperate measures", or "fight fire with fire", or "I hope I don't become crazy like Arthas for turning to the evil undead to stop the evil undead".  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 03:56, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

So your saying that one guy in the trailer turns into a death knight to fight the undead? I thought he was just some generic guy for the trailer.  Rolandius Paladin (talk - contr) 04:23, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

He is. It could be saying something like "The bigger they are, the harder they fall" or something.  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 15:59, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

I think what Mr.X8 is trying to say is that it's symbolic. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 16:05, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

As proven by "I think that [it] symbolizes"  IconSmall HighElf Male Mr.X8 Talk Contribs 16:21, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

I think he is a man who is killed by undead and after he turns into a death knight. Because the death knights only turn against the scourge after the battle.--User:FireMaster/Sig2 16:36, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

This seems believable. Most boxed software has a drop dead date of around early-to-mid October to get it out for the Xmas holiday season. However, from the instability I've been seeing lately in the Wrath-Logo-Small beta, especially with the servers (server down, getting kicked off, all types of lag, etc.), it might be later than sooner. --Gengar orange 22x22 Fandyllic (talk · contr) 4:19 PM PST 15 Aug 2008
Earlier, I went to EB to reserve my copy, and I saw that they had pegged Midnight, November 2nd as the release date (As in the 2nd going into the 3rd, not 1st into 2nd). I was really excited. They also said that they had heard rumors that Blizz was going to announce what their Special edition box will hold and stuff. Konrad13 (talk) 05:12, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
While Blizzard will obviously announce a special edition sooner or later, I wouldn't put any stock in a November 2nd release date. Retailers who take preorders are required by law to have a release date for the product. When no official release date has been announced, retailers make one up and then change it accordingly. Therefore until Blizzard announces something any release date you see for WotLK is, at best, an educated guess. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 05:26, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Orgrimmar Arena will also be the first and only arena to allow mounts? <--What?

In the description about Arenas, I read "Orgrimmar Arena will also be the first and only arena to allow mounts."

That doesn't make any sense. All Arenas currently allow mounts.

It sure sounds strange.--WoWWiki-Odolwa (talk) 21:23, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

WotLK Opening Cinematic

the big beast in the opening cinematic that the Lich King summons is a Frost Wyrm right? I just want to make sure since it really looks like one.SuperN (talk) 23:19, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Of course. CogHammer Ose talk/3721 15:33, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
More specifcally, if anyone is wondering, the frost wyrm is Sindragosa. User:KanaruThis is me.User:KanaruI am the sexiest Dwarf ever.User talk:KanaruIf you disagree, click here. 01:06, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

I think it's Sapphiron. It's logical, since Sapphiron seemed to be a very favoured champion of Arthas in Warcraft III.--WoWWiki-Odolwa (talk) 18:26, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Wasn't Sapphiron "raised" before Arthas became Lich King? --Super Bhaal (talk) 23:07, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

So Arthas is actually being in the Dragonblight and raising dragons as Frost Wyrms? I presumed he was just "summoning" one of his Frost Wyrms, but your theory sounds a little more logical.--WoWWiki-Odolwa (talk) 09:49, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Eh, apparently. According to the Lich King's page the dragon being raised is called Sindragosa. Sapphiron existed as a frost wyrm since before Arthas and Ner'zhul merged (by a couple of days to about a month or so), and something tells me the Lich King's two personalities don't seem like they'd much enjoy repeatedly bringing back "dead" servants...I also don't think frost wyrms would need to be "resummoned", being dead blue dragons (was this changed?) and all. --Super Bhaal (talk) 14:25, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
