Children's Week, also known as Week of the Wardens, is celebrated by both the Horde and Alliance in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. At the beginning of May, and lasting for a week, it is a time for heroes of both sides to give back to the innocents of war...the orphans!
This item is the quest objective for Deep Impact. It is created by combining 4 Ancient Tablet Fragment.

  +
  +
Children's Week is also held for both factions in Shattrath City and Dalaran for higher level characters.
  +

Many Azerothian holidays are based off real-life counterparts. Children's Week generally occurs in early May, and is likely based off of Japan's Children's Day which is held on May 5.

Dalaran

Introduced in patch 3.2.0, Northrend Children's Week is based in Dalaran. To alert players that the new quests were temporarily active (as Children's Week is much earlier in the year), the following urgent action bulletin was mailed to all players from Orphan Matron Aria:

URGENT ACTION BULLETIN
Wolvar Oracle stationary

The orphans of Northrend need your help. For less than the cost of a cup of [Kungaloosh], you can sponsor an unfortunate orphan like little Roo or Kekek. Simply contact Orphan Matron Aria in Dalaran. You can make all the difference in the life of a young oracle or wolvar. Act now!

The subject of this article or section is part of N [10-70] Little Orphan Kekek Of The Wolvar, a seasonal event that lasts one week. Once the event has run its course, this will no longer be available until next year, but there are no guarantees.

Objectives

Speak to Orphan Matron Aria [49, 63]VZ-DalaranBlip in Dalaran, then use the Oracle Orphan Whistle to call the orphan you will be taking care of during N [10-70] Little Orphan Kekek Of The Wolvar.

Description

The orphans have been looking forward to the opportunity to meet friends like you, <name>. It's wonderful that you've agreed to take one into your care.

Take this whistle. With it, you will be able to call for the orphan you have agreed to sponsor. It will only last for a limited time - not much longer than Children's Week itself, in fact.

Please, <name>, call upon your orphan. He will be excited to meet you and see the sites of Northrend with you.

Progres

You taking care of us?

Completion

You take us away from puppy-men hatchlings? Good. We like you already. Mean puppy-men hatchlings took all our favorite toys away.

Notes

Accept the quest, then speak to Aria again to complete the quest.

The Lich King's cruel reign has inflicted great suffering on all of Northrend's inhabitants, particularly the children. If you are friend to the Oracles or Frenzyheart Tribe of Sholazar, perhaps you might consider caring for an orphan for a week.

Gossip Ask about the orphans.

The orphans we have taken in come from war torn Sholazar Basin. You can choose to care for either an orphaned Oracle hatchling or a Frenzyheart pup. Either will be happy to make a new friend, but you will only be able to care for one of them.

Objectives

Speak to Orphan Matron Aria [49, 63]VZ-DalaranBlip in Dalaran, then use the Wolvar Orphan Whistle to call the orphan you will be taking care of during N [10-70] Little Orphan Kekek Of The Wolvar.

Progress

Orphan lady say Kekek go with you.

Completion

You take Kekek hunting? Good to get away from mean old orphan lady who doesn't let Kekek hunt.

Progression

  1. N [10-70] Little Orphan Kekek Of The Wolvar
  2. Complete all of:
  3. Complete both:
  4. N [10-70] A Visit To The Wonderworks
  5. N [10-70] Back To The Orphanage

Greetings, all.

We are presently aware of an issue which is preventing players from completing the quests Little Orphan Roo Of The Oracles and Little Orphan Kekek Of The Wolvar if they completed either quest last year. While we do not have any specific details to provide in regards to when this issue will be resolved, we will keep you updated with the latest information as it becomes available.

Thank you for your patience.

To clarify, this issue won't be able to be resolved for Children's Week this year. If you completed the quest previously you won't be able to complete it again for the other pet this year.

Achievements

The orphan's week event is tied to several achievements.

For The Children is the meta-achievement. Inv misc toy 01 [Veteran Nanny] is associated with Children's Week, but since it requires completing the orphan quests in 3 different years, it is not part of the meta-achievement.

Players must be level 77 to complete Achievement boss kingymiron 02 [Hail To The King, Baby] (minimum level to zone in on the Dungeon Finder) and Inv misc food 31 [Bad Example] (minimum level is 75 to eat some of the foods sold by aimee in Dalaran ).

Note
Note: This list is up to date as of Patch 10.1.7

Notes

Papa hummel orphan effects

Effect of Inv misc petbiscuit 01 [Papa Hummel's Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuit] on the Blood Elf and Orc Orphans

  • This quest set is extremely easy, considering the amount of reputation you receive.
  • The Outland and Azeroth quests are separate from each other, and both can be completed in the given week.
  • Inv misc petbiscuit 01 [Papa Hummel's Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuit] is usable on the orphans.
  • In order to complete the achievements after finishing the quest chains, you will need to ask the matron for another whistle.
    • The whistles will last for seven days, after which they will disappear. Although the achievements only specify needing your orphan out to complete the criteria, you will only be able to earn credit for them during the event.

Patch changes

  • Wrath-Logo-Small Patch 3.2.0 (2009-08-04): Wolvar and Gorloc orphans have arrived in Dalaran and need your help! Players can find out more by visiting the Eventide District (completing the quests being offered for this event will not count toward any Children's Week achievements). Players have a limited amount of time to care for these orphans before they take their leave. They will then return again for the regularly-scheduled Children's Week next year.

  • Template:Patched
  • WoW Icon update Patch 1.4.0 (2005-04-19): Added.
