Template page

The Progression Template is a Wrath raid progression tracker. This tracker is designed for use on Realm, Guild and User pages, to track guild, guild member and user character raid progression in Wrath of the Lich King, respectively.

This template consists of three parts, {{Progression|<name>|<faction>|<kills>}} which will contain the information for each guild or character, and {{Progression/Header}} and {{Progression/Footer}}, which create the top and bottom portions of the table.

This template is loosely based on Template:P but but contains added features that should make it easier for guilds to update and manage their entries. In addition to allowing for easier implementation, the template is designed so that new raids can be added with a single change to the template. No changes to pages using this template will be required.

ImplementationEdit

Adding this Template to a Realm PageEdit

Simplicity is the goal of this template. The template can be added simply be inserting two lines in the Realm page, {{Progression/Header}}, which creates the table, and {{Progression/Footer}}, which closes the table.

Adding a guild to the Progression TableEdit

Once the template has been added, guilds can be added by including {{Progression|<name>|<faction>|<kills>}} between the {{Progression/Header}} and {{Progression/Footer}} elements discussed above. Each parameter corresponds to a dungeon, and accepts a number indicating how many bosses in the instance or wing have been downed by the guild. Please note that a guild can enter "clear" or "done" instead of a boss count if the instance has been fully cleared.

ParametersEdit

The following elements required. Raids that have not been attempted can be omitted, and the template will display an empty checkbox.

name
For Realm pages, the name will be the name of the guild. On guild and user pages, the name will be the name of the character being tracked.
url
The URL parameter can contain the URL of the guild web site, if the template is being used to track guild progression. If the guild does not have a web site, this parameter can be left empty.
faction
<Alliance|Horde>
The icon for the specified faction will be displayed before the character or guild name.

Following the information above, use the variable names below to indicate the number of bosses downed in each raid. There are versions for heroic and non-heroic raids. Raids that have not been attempted can be omitted.

FeedbackEdit

Any feedback, questions or concerns can be added to the talk page. Information about updates and changes to the template will be added there as well, along with additional examples.
