Continent- The main land that hold all of the zones of the game. The continents are Kalimdor, The eastern kingdoms, Northrend, Outland, and the upcoming continent Pandaria.

Towns- Most towns that are scattered through out the zones are mostly quest hubs. Quest hubs are where NPC's that give out quests are located. Towns also hold stores that sell basic supplies, like food and water. Inns are in almost every town. You can set your home at inns where you can teleport back to at anytime.

Capitol Cities- Capitol Cities are the best of the best they have all the supplies that you can stock up on before your journeys. Profession and class trainers can also be found in capitol cities, where you can learn how to craft new things and learn new spells.

Instances- An instance is not really part of the world at all. A portal is the only entrance into the instance, the instance can be a dungeon or a raid. An instance is only for you and your party. That is why you mud go through a portal to get into an instance.

Locations

There are hundreds of different locations in WoW. They can be split into:
