If you really feel any "see also" information should be in a section of its own, convert it wholesale and drop this template entirely. Leaving it in as a "convert this to a section" will encourage bad - hard to trace/edit - behavior. --[[User:Eirik Ratcatcher|Eirik Ratcatcher]] 19:40, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

deprecated?

Not to be a pain, but {{AlsoSee}} is useful when a particular note in a page deserves further reference. Like a footnote, but with hyperlinking in mind.

A 'See Also section is useful for things the page as a whole indicates reference to. And even then, only if the thing you are referring to "can wait".

An example: Patch 2.1.2 (Undocumented Changes). A Counterexample: Inv shoulder 29 [Alabaster Plate Pauldrons]

... that is, I agree, it is overused. --Eirik Ratcatcher 22:42, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Before you alter the template ...

If you strongly feel that this template should be deprecated, examine all the pages that use it, first. I have strong feelings that it IS useful, for pages such as Morbent Fel quest chain. There ARE pages that use AlsoSee in ways that converting it into a section heading is not appropriate.

If you really feel any "see also" information should be in a section of its own, convert it wholesale and drop this template entirely. Leaving it in as a "convert this to a section" will encourage bad - hard to trace/edit - behavior. --Eirik Ratcatcher 19:40, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
