External links - object usage

Description

Creates external object links using Object ID (for WoWhead and ThottBot), and Allakhazam ID (for Allakhazam)

If only one ID number is given, it will be used as Object ID, with a request for the Allakhazam ID.

NOTE: Allakhazam has a flawed object ID system and will use the same ID for any object with the same name, even if they use different internal IDs and have different properties in-game.

Syntax

Parameters

noaid = optional; put "true" if you want to hide the following message when you don't know Allakhazam ID

notid = optional; put "true" if you want to hide the Thottbot link

nowid = optional; put "true" if you want to hide the Wowhead link

Improvement needed

I have this set up to use the first number for WoWhead and ThottBot (as the old version did), it will use a second number (if given) for Allakhazam, and request a second number if one is not provided.
It might be better to use parameters but then the existing implementations would all have to be updated.—MJBurrage • talk • 17:43, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Added a param to hide no Alla ID message, since it seems difficult to find out what the ID is from the Alla site. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 12:48 PM PST 24 Nov 2007

Would it be possible to have a "nowid" and "notid" used for the template, respectively for WoWHead and Thottbot? Some objects (for example Loosely Turned Soil) exists in the Thottbot database but neither in the WoWhead or Allakhazam one. --gOurra 17:25, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I added support for notid= and nowid=. Tested at {{elinks-object/dev}} and worked with no obvious problems.-- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 7:56 AM PST 8 Feb 2008

Removal of Allakhazam

A vote is in progress! A consensus must be reached by voting before any action is taken. If one side outnumbers the other by five votes for three days, that side is declared the winner.
