The Altar of Damnation is located near the Fel Pits on the southwestern side of the Hand of Gul'dan in the Shadowmoon Valley. Here, a vision has appeared repeatedly depicting the mountain's namesake committing the acts that would sever the orc's connection to the elements. He shattered the land and took raw energy that the elements would not give willingly to use in the invasion of Azeroth.
After he completes the ritual several remenants of Gul'Dan's personality appear. The rememants of his malice, hate, greed, pride, and corruption all appear in a pentagonal formation around the original copy of Gul'Dan which sits in the middle in a circle of magic.
