The Cipher of Damnation is a spell of immense power that has been used at least twice in both Azeroth and Draenor. According to Oronok Torn-heart, the Cipher was first used by Gul'dan, which apparently led to the transformation of Shadowmoon Valley to what it is today. It - or a variation thereof - was also used to raise Blackrock Mountain from the depths of the world when Sorcerer-thane Thaurissan summoned the Firelord Ragnaros. Now the evil Prince Kael'thas seeks to obtain the Cipher for his own nefarious purposes.
The Cipher is used in the quest
