The Ocular is an eye floating just above the Shadow Vault. It is used by the Lich King to watch the surrounding area of Icecrown.
Players destroy The Ocular in It's All Fun and Games, given by their faction's death knights on the gunships above the glacier before reporting to Baron Sliver to do the bidding of Knights of the Ebon Blade.
Pop culture reference
Many people find The Ocular similar to the Eye of Sauron from the Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
