The San'layn is a faction of darkfallen, renegade elves from Quel'Thalas under the rule of the Lich King. The San'layn in particular appear to be a group of elven princes.

• Darkfallen Deathblade - Retainers of Prince Valanar.
• Luthion the Vile - One of Prince Valanar's lieutenants.
• Prince Atherann - Took part in the ritual to raise Arugal.
• Prince Keleseth - Overlord of Howling Fjord and ambassador to the vrykul.
• Prince Navarius - Resides in Zul'drak.
• Prince Sandoval - Resides in Icecrown Citadel and challenges fighters to battle at Valhalas.
• Prince Taldaram - Boss in Ahn'kahet, presumably a leader of Scourge forces attempting to conquer Azjol-Nerub.
• Prince Theraldis - Led the ritual to raise Arugal.
• Prince Valanar - Overlord of Borean Tundra and master of Naxxanar.
• Vanthryn the Merciless - One of Prince Valanar's lieutenants.
