The Scarlet Key is obtained from a strongbox guarded by Arcanist Doan - the final boss with the libary wing of the Scarlet Monastery. This key is used to open doors that conceal the entrances to the Armory and Cathederal wings of the Scarlet Monastery as well as the Scarlet Bastion within Stratholme.
