The Sons of Hodir are a faction of ice giants located in Storm Peaks region of Northrend. They are a war-like race that makes its home in Dun Niffelem. This faction is named for titanic watcher Hodir. Long ago Titans created seed races including giants to watch the world of Azeroth together with watchers. Titanic watcher Loken betrayed ideas of Titans under influence of Yogg-Saron. Loken tricked his brother Thorim into striking out at his frost giant allies and then settling into a ages-long stupor.

The Sons of Hodir's claim to fame in Wrath of the Lich King is that they are the providers of all the Shoulder enchants for Wrath of the Lich King (except for scribe-only enchants). The first tier is available at Honored, the second at Exalted. The Honored shoulder Enchants for the Sons of Hodir are equivalent to the Exalted enchants provided by the Aldor and Scryers from the BC, although it might be better to burn any left over Holy Dust or Arcane Runes before spending money on the Sons of Hodir ones. It is worth noting that the shoulder enchants are Bind on Account, making it so only one character per server really needs to go through the grind of being exalted.

Reputation

The player will start as hated with The Sons of Hodir. To gain status you need to run the main quest chain which starts with They Took Our Men! in K3. Particularly Mending Fences and A Spark of Hope will boost your reputation, putting you well into honored.

To gain further reputation you can:

Run daily quests (see table)
Turn in [Relics of Ulduar]. These drop from many mobs in The Storm Peaks and its dungeons. They do not bind on pickup. If you have the money, buying these in the Auction House can be a quick and easy way to gain reputation.
Turn in [Everfrost Chips]. These appear rarely in the areas near Dun Niffelem, and bind on pickup.
Turn in [Sons of Hodir Commendation Badges]. As of patch 3.3.0 you can purchase these with [Emblems of Triumph]. They give 520 reputation when used.

[80 Daily] Hot and Cold is unlocked by [80] Forging an Alliance from the main quest chain. This will bring Fjorn's Anvil to Dun Niffelem.
[80 Daily] Blowing Hodir's Horn is unlocked by:

2. [80] A Monument to the Fallen (+97 rep)
  which a sidequest chain from the main quest chain. This will restore The Horn of Hodir.
[80 Daily] Polishing the Helm is unlocked by:
1. [80] Forging a Head (+325 rep)
2. [80] Mounting Hodir's Helm (+195 rep)
  which become available at friendly reputation. This presents Hodir's Helm to Dun Niffelem.
[80] Thrusting Hodir's Spear is unlocked by [80] Raising Hodir's Spear (+325 rep), which becomes available at honored reputation. This makes Hodir's Spear appear.

The rest of the dailies simply become available when the required reputation is reached.
