Stone Troggs are the truest form of trogg before the Curse of Flesh turned many of them into their fleshly counterparts. They, like troggs, are considered a mistake of the titans. Stone Troggs have been fighting the earthen for thousands of years in Deepholm.[1]

Some may say that the existence of stone troggs is a contradiction of established lore.
The Lore Keeper of Norgannon clearly implies that the Curse of Flesh affected the stone earthen, which caused them to become either fleshy dwarves or troggs. Therefore, no stone troggs could have existed in this model.
However, Acheras the Custodian's exposition,[2] an old description of the Uldaman instance,[3] a newer description of the Uldaman instance,[4] Lands of Conflict,[5] and Manual of Monsters[6] all refer to the troggs as separate (failed) stone experiments.
It is possible that there were two (or more) separate "destabilizations": One where some earthen were turned into stone troggs, and another where both types were turned to flesh. The Lore Keeper of Norgannon does state that it lacks "chronological references", possibly meaning that the data of separate but similar events was combined out of context.
