When dual-wielding, your Death Strikes, Obliterates, Plague Strikes, and Frost Strikes also deal damage with your off-hand weapon, and your Frost Strike damage is increased by 40%.
Threat of Thassarian is a passive death knight ability learned at level 74 for death knights with the frost specialization.
This is a key talent that makes dual wielding viable for death knights. Normally only the main hand weapon is taken in to account for abilities that deal damage based on weapon damage, such as Blood Strike and Obliterate, severely reducing their damage when dual wielding instead of using a 2-hander. This talent 'fixes' that problem for deep frost death knights.
Patch 5.0.4 (28 August 2012): Updated; changed from When dual-wielding, your Death Strikes, Obliterates, Plague Strikes, Rune Strikes, Blood Strikes and Frost Strikes have a X% chance to also deal damage with your off-hand weapon.
Patch 3.2.2 (2009-09-22): Threat of Thassarian now also causes Rune Strike to use both weapons when dual-wielding.
