Ulduar is a raid dungeon in the titan complex of Ulduar, located within the Storm Peaks. The dungeon is planned to be released in patch 3.1.0, the first content patch for Wrath of the Lich King.[1][2] Ulduar will be one grade in difficulty above Naxxramas.[3]

Ulduar will be divided into two separate raid wings, the final one only accessible after finishing the previous wing.[2]

Encounters

The raid dungeon will consist of fourteen encounters.[2] Eleven of them will have hard modes (different from normal and heroic modes), which will reward achievements and extra, and/or improved, item rewards.[2][4] Siege vehicles will play a role in the dungeon.[2]

Knowing that many of the unveiled bosses are titanic watchers (Temple of Winter, Life, and Storms — Hodir, Freya, and Thorim, respectively), it could be speculated that other titanic watchers could be bosses: Tyr and Mimir/Mimiron[2] (Temple of Order and Invention). An Old God lies within Ulduar,[1][2] suggesting that Yogg-Saron may be the final boss of this raid dungeon.

Geography

Expedition Base Camp - Iron Concourse - Formation Grounds - Razorscale's Aerie - The Colossal Forge - The Scrapyard - The Antechamber - The Assembly of Iron - The Shattered Walkway - The Prison of Yogg-Saron - Hall of Memories - The Corridors of Ingenuity - The Conservatory of Life - The Halls of Winter - The Clash of Thunder - The Spark of Imagination - The Descent into Madness

Gear

Items obtained in normal and heroic modes will share models, but vary in color. Set bonuses can be obtained when normal and heroic set items are worn together.[8]

PTR

Ulduar will be available on the PTRs, however, the entire dungeon will not be able to be tested at one time.[5] The United States and European PTRs will test different encounters.[5]
