General Macros

Bubble Hearth

Probably the most useful anti-death macro available, this allows a level 50 or higher pally to leave combat and get to safety (unless the bubble is dispelled by a 70 priest with Mass Dispel).

#showtooltip Hearthstone
/cast [button:1] Divine Shield
/use [button:2] Hearthstone

You left click on the macro to activate the bubble, and right click to hearth. Remember global cooldown, and practice this before attempting to use in combat.

Mega Holy Healing Macro

This macro will fire off any healing trinkets you have. It will then pop off Divine Favor and Divine Illumination, catching and clearing any UI errors. Next it sees if you are holding down shift to determine whether to cast Flash of Light (default) or Holy Light (shift mod). The appropriate spell will then be cast in the following order: (1) any friendly mouseover target; (2) if no mouseover target, it will cast on your actual target, if friendly; or (3) if no mouseover target or no friendly actual target, it will cast on you.

/use 13
/use 14
/cast Divine Favor
/cast Divine Illumination
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
/cast [mod:shift, target=mouseover, help][mod:shift, help][mod:shift, target=player] Holy Light; [target=mouseover, help][help][target=player] Flash of Light

Holy Paladin Attack Rotation

This is a very useful one-button macro for mindlessly grinding mobs. Here's what it does: Brings Seal of the Crusader up if you're not in combat and your target is hostile, judges it, brings SoR up, Holy Shocks, judges SoR and then repeats until you leave combat. If you give the macro a question mark icon, it will reflect the next spell in rotation. Make sure to hit it once before going into combat, then just spam it until your target is dead!

#showtooltip
/stopmacro [noexists]
/stopmacro [help]
/cast [nocombat] Seal of the Crusader
/castsequence reset=combat Judgement, Seal of Righteousness, Holy Shock

Judgement of Light

Casts a Spell sequence to put a Judgement of Light on an unfriendly target. Press shift key to reset sequence or is reset on target change.

#showtooltip
/castsequence [harm] reset=target/shift Seal of Light, Judgement

Judgement --> Seal of Righteousness

This will simply cast Judgement and instantly put your Seal back.

#showtooltip Seal of Righteousness
#show Judgement
/cast Judgement
/cast Seal of Righteousness

(NEW!) well, that is way too easy. this one will try to cast judgement only if you DO have a hostile target, and cast a new Seal of Righteousness if your target is still alive

#show Judgement
#showtooltip Seal of Righteousness
/stopmacro [noexists]
/stopmacro [help]
/cast Judgement
/stopmacro [noexists]
/cast [nodead] Seal of Righteousness

however, if your target was killed BY that judgement, SoR will be cast still. if it is possible to fix that, post it here please.

Edit: Added /stopmacro [noexists] between cast judgement and the seal. Should stop now if the target is dead. However remove it if it doesn't work

Judgement --> SoR/SoC

This macro casts Seal of Righteousness when you have a 1h weapon equipped, and Seal of Command when you have a 2h weapon equipped. Good in conjunction with a weapon swap mod/macro if you pull too many mobs and need to change quickly.

/cast Judgement
/cast [equipped:One-Hand] Seal of Righteousness; Seal of Command

Best Combat Triple Macro Combo

3 very useful mana efficient macros if use correctly (see below) – the most efficient use of these 3 macros would be to place them next to each other in the actionbar, the order is up to you.

Macro 1: When not in combat, this macro will show and only cast Seal of the Crusader. When in combat, it will display only Judgement. During combat when there is a Seal, pressing this macro once will cast Judgement on target and also cast/refill your Paladin w/ Seal of the Crusader. Additionally, since by pressing this macro during combat will cast Seal of the Crusader anyways, so when there is no Seal already casted and your Paladin is forced into combat (when enemy attacks you), pressing this macro will cast Seal of the Crusader even during combat. Furthermore, this macro includes “/startattack” command, which will start attacking the enemy when the button is press.

#showtooltip
/startattack
/cast [nocombat] Seal of the Crusader
/cast [combat] Judgement
/cast [combat] Seal of the Crusader

Macro 2: When a 2-Handed weapon is equipped, it will display Seal of Command. When a 1-Handed weapon is equipped, it will display Seal of Righteousness. When this macro is pressed when there is already a Seal casted, it will cast Judgement and recast/refill the Seal according to the type of weapon. Without any Seal casted, it will cast the Seal according to the type of weapon. This macro includes “/startattack” command, which will start attacking the enemy when the button is press.

#showtooltip [equipped:Two-Hand] Seal of Command; [equipped:One-Hand/Main Hand] Seal of Righteousness
/startattack
/cast Judgement
/cast [equipped:Two-Hand] Seal of Command; [equipped:One-Hand/Main Hand] Seal of Righteousness

Macro #3: This macro is used depending on situation. It will always display Hammer of Justice. When this macro is pressed, it will cast Hammer of Justice then Judgement with one press.

#showtooltip
/startattack
/cast Hammer of Justice
/cast Judgement

How to best use these 3 macros together? Well, it’s always advised to judge “Seal of the Crusader” 1st to get the most Holy damage cause to the enemy with other Seals.

  1. Before you run into combat, press Macro #1 to cast Seal of the Crusader.
  2. As you get near or within range of the enemy, press Macro #2 to judge Seal of the Crusader on the enemy. By pressing this macro, it will also recast either Seal of Command or Seal of Righteousness depending on your weapon.
  3. Macro #1 while in combat will display Judgement, this allows you to see the cooldown timer and when the Judgement is ready for use again.
  4. Use Macro #2 as needed depending on how much health the enemy has. Try not to constantly judge the Seal as that is not the most efficient use of mana.
  5. Options:
    • When fighting an enemy that tends to run away when they are low on health, it is good idea to use Macro #3, which will stop the enemy from running and judge the Seal on the enemy, causing damage and hopefully kill it.
    • When fighting a higher level enemy or boss and/or your Paladin is low on health, you may want to get an extra hit in for damage by using Macro #3.
    • When fighting an enemy that does not run away and you’re not worried about health, use Macro #1 as the finishing move. With a Seal of Command/Righteousness already casted, Judgement will cost damage and hopefully kills the enemy. At the same time, it will recast Seal of the Crusader. Now you are ready to move on to the next enemy right away.

Greater Blessings (replace "Wisdom" with your blessing)

/cast [target=mouseover, exists] Greater Blessing of Wisdom; [target=target, help] Greater Blessing of Wisdom; [target=player] Greater Blessing of Wisdom

Single target blessings (replace "Might" with your blessing)

#showtooltip Blessing of Might
/cast [target=mouseover, exists] Blessing of Might; Blessing of Might

Single/Greater Blessing (replace "Might" with your blessing)

Casts the greater blessing if you hold down shift while clicking the button or pressing the hotkey, and the normal blessing otherwise. It allows you to bind both blessings to the same key.

#showtooltip Blessing of Might
/cast [modifier:shift] Greater Blessing of Might; Blessing of Might

Retribution Combo

(Retribution only) Cast Seal of Command before spamming this. by

/castsequence reset=10 Crusader Strike, Judgement, Seal of Command
  • Being a retribution Paladin, you have a very high chance of having one or two points in the talent Improved Judgement (most PvE builds take one point, PvP take two), you would have to change the bold numeric in the above macro to suit the changed cooldown gained by using these points in the retrbitubtion tree.

Auto Attacking Regardless of Cooldowns with Crusader Strike

Triggering this macro will guarantee you start attacking regardless of any cooldowns on your Crusader Strike button.

/startattack
/cast Crusader Strike

Seal of Command Multi-Rank

Casts rank 1 of Seal of Command when you press alt, control, and trigger the macro. Otherwise casts highest rank.

/cast [modifier:alt][modifier:control] Seal of Command(Rank 1); Seal of Command

Consecration Multi-Rank

Casts rank 1 of Consecration when you press alt and trigger the macro. Otherwise casts highest rank.

/cast [modifier:alt] Consecration(Rank 1); Consecration

This variation will cast Consecration (Rank 1) when out of combat, or your highest level Consecration when in-combat. Great for defending an area against stealthed targets.

/cast [nocombat] Consecration(Rank 1); Consecration

Fast Freedom (Important to PvP)

Bind this key to your middle button or somewhere fast, then use it when you're slowed or rooted, etc.! by

#showtooltip
/cast [target=player] Blessing of Freedom

1 Button JotC/JoR/JoC Macro

A 1 button macro ( with modifier ) for Judgeing Crusader, then using Seal of Righteousness or Seal of Command based on your weapons. Hold shift ( or any modifier you choose ) to seal and judge Crusader, then if you have a shield equipped it will SoR, or a 2 handed weapon will SoC.

/castsequence [modifier:shift] reset=30,target/combat Seal of the Crusader, Judgement;[equipped:Shields] reset=30 Seal of Righteousness, Judgement;[equipped:Two-Handed Swords/Two-Handed Maces/Two-Handed Axes/Polearms] reset=30 Seal of Command, Judgement

Spelladin Seals Macro

Since I have a fast weapon, I noticed that it deals more damage with Righteousness when you have the spell damage then when Seal of Command procs so i made this macro. Yes, you will have to press judgement yourself, I found it to make the macro not work correctly.

/cast [nocombat] Seal of the Crusader(Rank 6)
/castsequence reset=(set 8 or 10 depending if you have improved or not) Seal of Righteousness(Rank 8), Seal of Command(Rank 5)

You can also add Hammer of Justice to it and it would look like this then but be aware that it resets after 8-10 seconds if you don't push it again. That is also a reason why it can be buggy.

/cast [nocombat] Seal of the Crusader(Rank 6)
/castsequence reset=(set 8 or 10 depending if you have improved or not) Seal of Righteousness(Rank 8), Seal of Command(Rank 5), Hammer of Justice(Rank 4)

Redemption

Resurrect your target and warn the group. Stop the macro if the target is hostile/not dead.

#showtooltip Redemption
/cast Redemption
/stopmacro [nohelp,nodead]
/gr Resurrecting %t.

Preventing Runners (Seal of Justice)

Since Judgement is not effected by the global cooldown, this instantly forces mobs to stop running- I like to use this as soon as the emote that they begin running appears, forcing them to run back to you (PvE) or hindering their movement speed (PvP).

/cast Seal of Justice
/cast Judgement

Mount with Crusader Aura

This macro will, if unmounted cast Crusader Aura and mount (a Blue Hawkstrider in this case). If mounted it will cast Concentration Aura then dismount. The mount must be a regular mount, it won't work with the paladin mount spells.

The exclamation point is the notoggle indicator. With it if you have Crusader Aura on already and click the macro it will not toggle the aura to off, but if you had another aura it will still switch to Crusader.

/cast [nocombat, nomounted] !Crusader Aura; [mounted] !Concentration Aura;
/cast [nocombat, nomounted] Blue Hawkstrider;
/dismount

Random Mount with Crusader Aura

If unmounted, this macro will cast Crusader Aura and randomly summon one of your mounts (Epic Paladin Charger or Black War Tiger in this case), with just one click. If mounted, it will also dismount you and cast Concentration Aura. You can add additional mounts using a comma as separator or change the aura when dismounting to your preference.

/cast [nomounted] !Crusader Aura
/castrandom Summon Charger,Reins of the Black War Tiger
/dismount [mounted]
/cast !Concentration Aura

Summon Charger with Crusader Aura

Since the above macros do not work with Summon Charger, due to shared cooldowns between Auras and Summon Charger, here is one that requires one extra click. If unmounted, click once to cast Crusader Aura. Click again to cast Summon Charger. If mounted, click once to dismount and cast Devotion Aura (replace with your aura of preference).

/castsequence [nocombat, nomounted] !Crusader Aura, Summon Charger
/cast [mounted] !Devotion Aura
/dismount [mounted]

If you want to get mounted first, use the following macro. The first button click will mount you, when mounted the second click activates the Crusader Aura and the third click will dismount you and apply Devotion Aura (replace with your aura of choice).

/cast [nocombat, nomounted] Summon Charger
/castsequence [mounted] !Crusader Aura, Summon Charger
/cast [mounted] !Devotion Aura

Gathering and Tracking Macros

The Paladin has one tracking ability that can be selected: this can, however, put a dint in your gathering prospects. This is modified from the Useful Macros page to include Sense Undead

/castsequence [nocombat] find herbs, find minerals, sense undead

IWIN Button for Shockadins

This is most effective for "shockadins" (40/0/21 spec). It will cast Avenging Wrath, use any trinkets you have equipped, Cast a guaranteed Holy Shock crit, and cast a Judgement, all in one button press. For shockadins with a decent amount of +spelldamage gear, this is usually between 3-5k holy damage. Judgement of the Crusader must be on your target and Seal of Righteousness must be active for this to do the most possible damage.

/cast Avenging Wrath
/cast Vengeance of the Illidari
/cast Glowing Crystal Insignia
/cast Divine Favor
/cast Holy Shock
/cast Judgement

Blessing of sacrifice

/clearfocus [modifier:shift] [target=focus,dead] [target=focus,noexists]
/focus [target=focus,noexists]
/script SetRaidTarget("focus", 1)
/cast [target=focus] Blessing of Sacrifice

Bubble a *PARTY MEMBER*

A paladin only has a few ways to gather threat once it's off of them, and depending on what you're fighting, Righteous Defense can be resisted. This macro ensures that if you're still the second on the hate list, that you'll gain control of the enemy again. Note that when it's a caster, they're able to keep casting through the shield, but ranged/melee DPS cannot.

#showtooltip Blessing of Protection
#show Blessing of Protection
/assist
/cast Blessing of Protection
/assist

You can add in another line after the casting but before the second assist to notify the spell/physical limitations.

/p %t may still cast spells while shielded.

Blessing of Protection can only be cast on a party member and having a chain of conditionals could lead to unwanted persons getting the buff. For this reason the macro does not check if the person is dead or even in the party, but only attempts to cast it on a target if the player is in a party. This is important if the player is in a raid.

#showtooltip
/cast [nogroup,target=player][target=mouseover][help][target=targettarget,party]Blessing of Protection

This macro is better and takes less time to execute, but just like the macro above, if you press it while your target is targeting you, it will throw it up on you and likely cause you to drop aggro. If you are a tank, add at the beginning:

/cancelaura Blessing of Protection

ZA Halazzi OT macro

Along the fight with Halazzi (Lynx boss) in Zul Aman, if you are acting as OT, at 75%, 50%, 25% HP of the boss, you are required to pick up aggro from the Spirit of the Lynx, one of the shared forms Halazzi has. To make this operation efficient and fast, I found very useful to have this macro:

#showtooltip Spirit of the Lynx
/target spirit of the lynx
/cast [target=spirit of the lynx] Judgement
/cast [nodead] Seal of Righteousness

Important: you have to have active Seal of Righteousness at the moment of the macro casting.

Healing Macros

By not placing a generic default action in the macro casting conditionals, the gui will replace the icon with the '?' which can be used as a form of feedback as to whether or not you have a target other than yourself. I would also get a icon recoloring addon so that if you are out of range of your intended target, it is obvious. Such as RangeRecolor.

Improved Cleanse, Holy Light, Flash of Light

Simple macro to Cleanse/Holy Light/Flash Light the mouseover or your target or your target's target, press alt/shift/ctrl to do the action yourself directly:

#showtooltip
/cast [mod,target=player][target=mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][nogroup,target=player][target=targettarget,help,nodead]Cleanse
#showtooltip
/cast [mod,target=player][target=mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][nogroup,target=player][target=targettarget,help,nodead]Holy Light
#showtooltip
/cast [mod,target=player][target=mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][nogroup,target=player][target=targettarget,help,nodead]Flash of Light

Target of Target healing

Allows the player to heal his "target's target" when it is hostile. Blizzard's auto selfcast and selfcast-key works.

#show Flash of Light
/cast [modifier:alt,target=player] Flash of Light
/cast [help,target=target] Flash of Light
/cast [help,nodead,nomodifier:alt,target=targettarget,help,nodead] Flash of Light
/cast Flash of Light

Libram of Mending Regen Spam Macro

Paladin have to equip the Libram of Mending. Just by spamming this macro will renew the duration of the buff every 27sec. A Reset timer is added so you can stop healing and start over after the selected amount of time.

#show Flash of Light
/castsequence reset=8 Holy Light(Rank 3),Flash of Light,Flash of Light,Flash of Light,Flash of Light,Flash of Light,Flash of Light,Flash of Light,Flash of Light,Flash of Light,Flash of Light,Flash of Light,Flash of Light

Focus Healing

Allows the player to heal whatever focus targets (Ex: put focus on a boss and heal boss target). First step: select the non friendly target (boss, miniboss, trash etc, whatever) and use first macro to focus it:

/focus [target]

Seccond step: spam this macro to heal whatever the boss, miniboss etc is targeting (mainly should be the tank but if tank loose agro (agro lose, fear or other strategy) you auto heal whoever boss is targeting

/target focus
/assist [target]
/cast [modifier:alt]Holy Light;Flash of Light

Thanks to ZeusCool on Thunderhorn EU

Tanking Macros

Tanking Divine Shield

This Macro will allow a tank to cast Divine Shield and remove it in two clicks. This will allow a tank to remove all debuffs, DoTs, fears, and other harmful spells and then remove the shield so you can pick up aggro. This can also be used with blessing of protection and Divine Protection.

/cancelaura Divine Shield
/cast Divine Shield

Cancel Salvation when tanking

Replace Holy Shield with this macro. Whenever it is cast, it will immediately drop salvation.

#showtooltip Holy Shield
/cast Holy Shield
/cancelaura Greater Blessing of Salvation
/cancelaura Blessing of Salvation

If your healadins are a bit too BoP-happy, or if you want to extend this to a spammable macro to get rid of any buffs that would stop you from tanking, add a few lines to the macro above:

#showtooltip Holy Shield
/cast Holy Shield
/cancelaura Greater Blessing of Salvation
/cancelaura Blessing of Salvation
/cancelaura Blessing of Protection
/cancelaura Divine Shield

Righteous Defense

Since 2.4, a simple macro is no longer necessary to taunt off a player while the mob itself is targeted. However, the spell will not taunt off of friendly NPCs, such as the ones in the Hyjal Summit. This is because you cannot help the NPCs in question, and a macro using [help] will fail. Using [noharm] will allow the macro to work off of friendly players and NPCs.

#showtooltip Righteous Defense
/cast [noharm] [target=targettarget,noharm] Righteous Defense

This one will activate the Righteous Defense in three cases:

  1. When the mouse is over a living friendly target -> Righteous Defense on the mouse indicated target
  2. When your selected target is a living friendly -> Righteous Defense on your selected target
  3. When your target is unfriendly -> Righteous Defense on the target's target if it is living and friendly
#showtooltip Righteous Defense
/cast [target=mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][target=targettarget,help,nodead]Righteous Defense

Another alternative is to use focus instead of mouseover. This can be especially handy if the player seeks to protect a certain unit (for example, escort quests). In this case the player only need set their focus to the unit to protect, and the macro will allow for fast one-click taunting.

#showtooltip Righteous Defense
/cast [target=focus,help,nodead][help,nodead][target=targettarget,help,nodead]Righteous Defense

Crushing avoidance calculator
