I am longtime player on the Earthen Ring server and am proposing an idea for the Third expansion in world of warcraft.

I call this expansion"The Riches of War"

Features: An all new mercenary faction "Freelance Conflict" The cunning and enterprising goblins were unsatisfied with their current profits from the war between the alliance and the horde and yearned to gain even more power and riches.Though their trade and dealings were bountiful, the Trade princes felt them to be insufficient and set about finding a way to increase their wartime profits.Sam Steamwheedle the Trade prince of the Steamwheedle cartel found the solution to the goblin's dilemma, with the other prince's consent, he sent missives to the naga, the ogres, the worgen and the pandaren asking them to meet at Undermine for the discussing of an alliance . There he proposed to his guests his plan to create a faction of mercenaries whose goal was to lease its soldiers to the alliance or the horde and profit from the contracts all the while setting up operations in both Azeroth and Outland for their own personal gain .The four races, realizing that alone they stood no chance against the awesome might of the alliance and the horde, decided to accept Steamwheedle’s proposition and thus “Freelance Conflict” was Created.

5 new races:

The Goblins: The cunning and wily goblins of the south seas have made quite a reputation for themselves in the worlds of both Azeroth and Outland .With their potent technologies and legendary trade skills, these peculiar creatures stand to gain the most from the current conflict.Unsatisfied with the profits of their race, the goblin trade princes of Undermine formed a new mercenary faction who's sole purpose was to increase their already impressive wartime profits. As one of the Trade Prince's many associates, you must venture forth into the world and earn fame and more importantly fortune for both you and your race. Classes: Warrior, Rogue, Hunter, Mage, Warlock Starting Location: Bilgewater Port (Isle of Kezan) Capitol: Undermine Racial Mounts: Giant Turtles (adopted the mounts of Booty Bay Bruisers) Racial abilities: Business savvy: adds 5 points to all trade skills (passive) Fleet of Foot: Agility increased by 5 %( passive) Time is money: increases magic and normal attack speed by 25% for 10 seconds Looters: increases amount of money looted by 5% Language:Goblin,Common,Orcish

Racial Leaders: Sam Steamwheedle: The Cunning and Intelligent owner of the Steamwheedle Cartel, Sam Steamwheedle is well known for his fair business deals and shrewd pricing policies. A master diplomat and one of the finest politicians of the Goblin race, Sam is the glue that holds “Freelance Conflict” together. Despite his lofty position, Sam is a kind hearted goblin who takes into account all his allies suggestions.

Mogul Razdunk: Mogul Razdunk is the reclusive owner of the Venture Co. and one of the wealthiest goblins alive. Though he dislikes Sam Steamwheedle’s idea of a mercenary faction(and Sam himself), he, like the other trade princes, does his best to make the business of the faction run smoothly, heading the contract division from his Company’s Office in Undermine which is responsible for the deployment of contractors to both the Alliance and the Horde.

Grand Engineer Meklo Drakfizzle the 108th: last son of the highly respected Drakfizzle family, Meklo the 108th had a lot to live up to, considering his ancestors invented the Goblin Zeppelin. Upon reaching adulthood, the young goblin set about astounding his people by inventing many wondrous if slightly dangerous devices and earned the Title of Grand Engineer upon his invention of the widely used Goblin Shredder. To this day he remains in Undermine’s Spanner Square, though well over ninety years old, Meklo’s mind remains as sharp as it ever was and continues to perfect the goblin’s equipement to new and unstable heights.

The Ogres: Originally from the red world of Draenor now called Outland, The brutish and savage Ogres have fought all their lives for their survival in their adopted world of Azeroth. Trusted by few and hated by many, the ogres were fighting a losing battle against the combined might of both the Alliance and the Horde. Seeking a way for the survival of his race, the powerful yet wise ogre Lord Mor'kan Mountainfist immediately accepted the offer of the goblins for an alliance and led what clans he could assemble to the goblin capitol of Undermine where the trade princes welcomed and accommodated the beleaguered ogres. As one of the strongest beings on Azeroth, you must crush and destroy all who would seek to endanger both your people and your allies. Having grown up on the red world of Draenor, the young ogre was rescued from a savage worg by Durotan, Chieftain of the Frostwolf clan. In an act of gratitude, Mor’kan who was the son of the Mountainfist Tribe’s chieftain, offered his friendship and that of his clan to Durotan and his family. After the events of the first and second wars, Mor’kan now the chief of his tribe, led his people to the Badlands to escape the Alliance’s forces and remained until the end of the third war by wich time he had united the ogres of the Badlands using only diplomacy. When the Goblins invited the ogres into their new faction, Mor’kan immediately accepted, seeing it as the only way to save his people. An armored brute at first glance, Mor’kan is exceedingly intelligent and charismatic, wishing only the best for his people and working ceaselessly to preserve his race’s fragile new lifestyle. He is a powerful warrior but also an adept shaman who learned the arts from the orc’s warchief Thrall. Though he remembers the orc’s atrocities during the second war, Mor’kan also remembers his promise of friendship to Durotan and his family, thus he is on good terms with the horde’s warchief Thrall and recognizes that the orcs are changed for the better wich is why he allows his people to work for the Horde. He wields the Legendary weapon “The Staff of Nath” wich was gifted to his father by the great Nath himself and blessed by the primal elemental spirits of Draenor.

Archmage Draz’zilb: Formerly of the Stonemaul Clan, Draz’zilb joined warlord Mor’kan Mountainfist’s exodus to Undermine in the hopes of teaching his the other ogre mages an alternative to warlock magics. The warlord approved of this and appointed the highly intelligent Draz’zilb his chief advisor and named him the first archmage of the ogre race .He now resides in Undermine, helping warlord Mor’kan with his duties and training the new generation of ogre mages.

The Worgen: After the end of the second war, the humans of Gilneas closed the Greymane wall and withdrew into their kingdom in order to live peacefully. But one day, excavators found an idol to the Great Spirit Ornlu the white wolf and his daughter Luna of the Feral Moon, the great king Genn Greymane ordered that the idol be removed and in doing so angered the two demigods who turned the humans into the monstrous and mindless worgen who rampaged across their country during the entire third war. Feeling remorse about the worgen's plight, the demigodess Luna assembled the damned humans and returned to them their sentience and the grateful people pledged their eternal service to her and her father. Reviled as monsters by both the Alliance and the Horde, the now noble worgen gratefully accepted the goblin's offer to an alliance and prepared for the long war. As one of the children of both the Moon and the White Wolf, you must strive to aid the cause of your allies and to never again disrespect the ancient powers of the world

Born of Ornlu the White Wolf and Elune the Moon Goddess herself nearly 3000 years ago, Luna holds sway over the spirits of the wild and the forces of the night. Though considered young by her peers, Luna has demonstrated great kindness and compassion for all who enter her domain, even forgiving those who harm her friends and family. It is why she chooses to reside in the worgen’s capitol of Lunarai, gently watching over them from the city’s Temple of the Moon and ready to defend her friends at all costs.

Ornlu the Wite Wolf: The sire of the entire wolf race and one of the primal spirits of the wild, Ornlu is a friend to all animals and a legendary guardian of Azeroth, having defended it from the Burning Legion during the War of the Ancients. 7000 years after the war, the great wolf fell in love with Elune the Moon Goddess who in turn fell for him and they conceived a child whom they named Luna. Though Elune had to return to her children the night elves, Ornlu took up the raising of their daughter and hid her away deep in the forests of what would become Gilneas. After they returned to the worgen their intelligence, Ornlu chose to remain in Lunarai to keep a close watch over his daughter whom he loves deeply and to teach a select group of worgen the secrets of the druidic ways, having learned them from the demigod Cenarius .While amongst the mortals, he appears as a wizened old man with a wolfskin capped cloak.

Arch Druid Genn Greymane: Although well into his seventies, the wise fearless leader of the nation of Gilneas was the last to be transformed into a worgen and the first to be acquitted of his crimes against Ornlu and Luna. Feeling deep remorse for his past disrespect for the wild, King Greymane chose to become the first student in the ways of druidism and has become the arch druid of the worgen race. It is through Ornlu’s ties with Cenarius and his children that Genn and his fellow druids were allowed into the Cenarion Circle. Since then, King Greymane has worked tirelessly for the good of the land and earned the respect of the Cenarion druids. Though he does not fully trust the Goblins, King Greymane deemed it necessary to join with them for he knew the Greymane wall would not hold back the Alliance and the Horde Forever. He now resides in the Green Enclave in Lunarai, ruling his people with both wisdom and fairness.

The Naga: Ten thousand years ago, the power mad Queen Azshara and her highborne followers were cast to the bottom of the sea during the Great Sundering and sealed a deal with the Malevolent old Gods, becoming the monstrous serpentine naga in exchange for their lives. Much later, after a large group of her people splintered and joined the lord of Outland Illidan Stormrage, Empress Azshara decided that her people would once again walk the earth and accepted the goblin’s offer of an alliance, seeing it as a perfect means of establishing her power base on the surface. Now it falls to you, noble servant of Azshara to once again rise out of the surf and remind the mortal races that some things should not have been left forgotten at the bottom of the sea.

Classes: Warrior,Warlock,Mage,Priest,Hunter Starting Location: The Drowned Reaches (Beneath the Maelstrom) Capitol: Nazjatar Racial Mount: Snap Dragons Racial abilities: Water resistance: 10 points in water resistance Protection of Azshara: renders the user immune to fear and charm for 10 seconds Swift Swim: swim speed increased by 10 %( passive) Crushing Wave: Sends a wave out in front of the player, stunning up to 4 enemies for 2 seconds Language: Nazja,Common,Orcish

Racial Leaders: Empress Azshara: Beauty and Terror incarnate, these words only barely describe the magnificent and all powerful Empress Ashara, uncontested ruler of the naga. Once the queen of the Night Elves, she struck a deal with the malefic Old Gods to save her life and that of her servants when her magnificent City of Zin-Azshari was smashed to the depths of the sea by the Great Sundering. After ten thousand years of isolation, the great empress grew displeased with not only her now monstrous appearance, but that of her male servants, such imperfection was not tolerable to her. With the aid of her finest sorcerers, she wove a grand spell that retransformed her into a form ressembling her naga sirens but a hundredfold more beautiful and reshaped her male servants, returning to them their noble night elven visages and intelligence whilst keeping intact their bodies. She now resides in Nazjatar, ruling her subjects from the confines of her glorious Tidegem Palace, receiving the envoys of the goblins and sending forth her servants to aid her new allies whilst also maintaining the magical air bubble she erected around naga territory to allow her allies to walk freely on the ocean floor.

High Advisor Xeltherin Deeplash: Lord Xeltherin Deeplash was named High Advisor to the empress barely a day after the deal with the Tidehunter because he was the highest ranked highborne still alive, having been the finance manager of the kingdom. His conservative personality has served to mediate the empress’s decisions and decrees. He views all things with caution, taking into account every eventuality however unlikely and always considering the consequences. These qualities and his absolute devotion to the empress have made him an effective replacement for the late Lord Xavius and have served to make the Naga Empire prosper. He resides in Tidegem Palace, advising the empress and acting as the liaison between the naga and the other members of “Freelance Conflict”

General Laza’nor Wrathtide: General Laza’nor had been second only to captain Varo’then in the queen’s army and after the Sundering , he was first. Reknowned for his martial prowess and flawless tactics, Laza’nor commanded the forces of the naga to win crushing victories against the naga’s makrura and neighbours and add vast amounts of land to the empire, earning the name “Wrathtide” for having slain a sea giant lord with nothing but a net and harpoon. He is completely loyal to Azshara but distrusts the surface races, believing them to be profiteers and scoundrels. Despite his views, he serves his Empress unquestioningly, overseeing the defense of Nazjatar fromTidegem Palace.

The Pandaren: One of the most peculiar races on Azeroth, the peaceful pandaren have lived in peace and harmony for nearly ten thousand years. Hailing from the legendary island of Pandaria, these jovial beings were seen only as travelers in civilized lands ,drinking and laughing at taverns, despite this the race itself remained neutral to the conflicts that raged across Azeroth. Yet with all the recent events, the pandaren found it increasingly difficult to remain neutral and began to contemplate an alliance with other races, wanting to join neither the righteous but overcomplicated neither Alliance nor the noble yet recovering Horde. It was when the goblins sent their messengers that the pandaren shodo-pan council decided that this was their best alternative to their alliance problem. Though the pandaren retain a love for peace, their courageous people like you stand ready to fight, you must venture forth from your ancient home and do your part to aid and protect your new allies.

Classes: Warrior, Priest, Shaman, Hunter, Rogue Starting Location: Pandaria Capitol: ReedPaw City Racial Mount: Riding Bear Racial Abilities: Drunken Brawling: increases melee attack and magical attack power by 10% but decreases accuracy by 10% Sunny Disposition: spirit increased by 5% (passive) Master Brewer: 10 skill points to cooking and alchemy Peaceful Aura: Decreases threat by 5 %( passive) Language: Pandare,Common,Orcish

Racial Leaders:

Shodo-Pan Nobu Reedwine: Nobu Reedwine is the head of the shodo-pan council and a greatly respected pandaren. He was the one who vouched for the alliance with the goblins and personally attended the negotiations at Undermine. Though he is one of the oldest pandaren alive and the oldest of the shodo-pan,Nobu is also the wisest and most learned of them and is often called upon for advice from his fellow pandaren, be they shodo-pan or not. Nobu currently resides in Reedpaw City in the Great Yang Xiang Hall in Peach Blossom Square, though he often wanders the city, helping its citizens and sharing drinks with visiting adventurers.

Captain Tenko Morningshade: Captain Tenko Morningshade is the captain of the Reedpaw guard and the greatest pandaren wardancer alive. Though he dislikes violence, the erstwhile Tenko strives to keep Pandaria safe from kobold raiders who sometimes loot the outlying villages on pandaria for treasure to return to their mountain strongholds. In battle he is a magnificent blend of captivating Grace and Terrifying power, balancing each perfectly and never giving his enemies an opening. Despite all this, Tenko is a friendly being and never hesitates to help those in need and always shows mercy to those who ask for it.

Chen Stormstout: The legendary pandaren brewmaster Chen Stormstout is renowned all across his homeland for his exploits during the founding of the orcish nation of Durotar. A greathearted being who lives to perfect his ales, Chen has traveled the entire length and breadth of Azeroth and has made countless friends among the local races, not least of wich is Rexxar the champion of the Horde. Recent rumours suggest that Chen has left Azeroth and is now traveling through Outland, continuing his quest to create the perfect ale.

Other Features: Contractors: Members of “Freelance Conflict” in addition to pursuing their own unique faction quests, have the opportunity to align with either the Alliance or the Horde through “Contractors”, special NPCs posted in every major city that can issue contracts with both factions. Contracts will make FC players part of one of the 2 factions and make them neutral with the corresponding sub-factions. This will allow players to take alliance and horde quests and gain reputation with their chosen faction but this will mean making enemies with the opposing faction. Fortunately, the contractors can annul a player’s contract for a price and hand him a new one with reset reputation. Lastly for those FC players who wish to regain previous reputation, contractors in each Alliance/Horde major city will hand out repeatable quests that will increase reputation with the sub faction the contractor is assigned to.

An in depth look on”Freelance Conflict”and it’s races’s lore:

The Goblins:

1.Buisness sours:

Since the end of their alliance with the Horde and their decision to play both sides, the goblins of Undermine have always prided themselves on their extremely profitable wartime trading with both the Alliance and the Horde. It is not a stretch to say that this trade generated almost half of the Goblin’s vast (really really vast) wealth. However one event occurred that would change their fruitful relations forever. The conquest of Outland and Northrend by both the Alliance and the Horde left many of the Goblin arms dealers without paying clients, the armies of both races having been called to aid in the mysterious new world beyond the Dark Portal and the frozen domain of the Lich King. This situation caused a large drop in goblin wealth (almost half of it) and sent the Trade Princes into a panic due to the fact that they had never before experienced such a decrease in profits. Although the Trade Princes sent innumerable agents to Outland and Northrend to set up their business there, they returned with failure , due to the fact that the situations in places was simply too chaotic to establish a permanent business of any kind (The city of Shattrath had refused to allow transformation of its ruins into a trade center and the Scourge always seemed to find their shops) . Seeing no solution to their plight, the Trade Princes would have been resigned to a life of only great wealth (and not fabulous wealth), if it had not been for the brilliant plan of one enterprising goblin.

2.Sam Steamwheedle and the “Great Plan”:

Sam Steamwheedle had always been one of the greatest Trade Princes in Undermine. Being the owner and founder of the Steamwheedle Cartel, he was considered a genius in trade , even by his race’s lofty standards, he was also respected for being a fine politician and a peerless diplomat (traits wich he developed over his long trading career). Seeing the crisis that had befallen his race and the failed, half baked plans that his panicked Trade Prince peers had concocted, he pondered long and hard for a profitable solution to their unprofitable dilemma. After a week of careful thinking and focused planning (a rarity among Goblins), Sam worked out and presented to his fellow Princes what he called his “Great Plan”. According to Sam, the Alliance and the Horde, having sent most of their forces into Outland, were relatively vulnerable at this time, the key to regaining their trade with the factions lay not in material goods, but in manpower. The Alliance and the Horde needed able bodied soldiers to defend their holdings during their Outland campaign, and Sam , realizing full well that his people were not very good at war, proposed the forming of a new, co-managed mercenary Faction. When the Trade Princes demanded who else would run this “Faction”, Sam Steamwheedle assured them he knew exactly who would be taking part in the “Great Plan”.

3. The Kezan Summit:

Sam dispatched his best agents to the leaders of every race who had ever had dealings with the Goblins(excluding the Alliance and the Horde of course), his cartel in particular, promising in each missive that their coming would be the answer to their prayers and would grant them power to fulfill their goals. Unfortunately out of all the races who were not with the Alliance or the Horde, only four answered the Trade Prince’s call. What was more fortunate were the four races who had answered positively and had come to the Isle of Kezan . The serpentine Naga led by the glorious Empress Azshara, The newly united (mostly) Ogre tribes led by the courageous Tribe Lord Mor’kan Mountainfist, the newly sentient Worgen of Gilneas led by Arch Druid Genn Greymane and the peaceful pandaren led by shodo-pan Nobu Reedwine. Sam Steamwheedle welcomed each leader and he proceeded to unveil his plan of a joint mercenary faction who would rent it’s services to both the Alliance and the Horde for profit , all the while serving it’s own discreet agenda and mainting it’s own operations in Azeroth. He promised immunity from all out war with the two dominant factions, and a hefty sum of revenue for every race should they accept to allow their forces to be hired as mercenaries. Though there were numerous protests from all sides and more than a few emmneties, Sam made them see that this was not only a most profitable venture, it was one that would save all those involved from large scale conflict with the Alliance and the Horde. This truth eventually won over even the most vehement opposition and all the races agreed it was in the best interest of their people (albeit for different reasons). And so they came to form“Freelance Conflict”, who, with the help of some expert diplomacy (from Sam), managed to enter into business with both the Alliance and the Horde who allowed the establishing of the organisation in all their cities. However with the faction established, there still remained the difficult task of keeping good terms with their new contacts and pursuing the plans it’s “High Council” had began to put into action…

The Ogres:

1.The Mountainfist ,the Frostwolf and the two wars:

Several years before the opening of the Dark Portal, when Draenor was still untouched by the claws of the Burning Legion, a most peculiar alliance was sealed. Durotan, newly appointed chief of the Frostwolf Clan rescued an ogre youth from a giant worg while hunting alone in Nagrand. This young Ogre was so impressed by the orc’s nobility and kindness, he took Durotan with him to his village in the nearby Barrier Hills. The ogre whose name was Mor’kan took his savior to see his father who was chief of the Mountainfist Tribe, in gratitude for saving his son , he promised Durotan the undying friendship of the Mountainfist to Durotan and his line. When the demons came and the orcs fell to the blood haze, Durotan did his best to conceal the Mountainfist tribe from his raging bretheren, but the tribe was eventually found out and forced into the new Horde’s service. During the entirety of the first war, the ogres were driven to do battle with the Humans and many died for a cause they did not believe in, Mor’kan who was now Chief of his tribe knew that this incessant war would bring only ruin to his people and he longed to rejoin the frostwolf Clan who had been exiled at the beginning of the war, but still he fought for the sake of his people, who were punished at the slightest show of opposition to their orc “allies”. When the Horde triumphed over the kingdom of Azeroth, they turned their demon crazed eyes to Lordaeron and, with the ogres at the forefront, launched their invasion of Khaz Modan. This new war proved to be the final straw for the Mountainfist tribe…

2. the Ironforge rebellion and the flight :

The Horde swept through the lands of Khaz Modan with demonic fury and the dwarven resistance crumbled before it’s warriors and the fearsome ogres who spearheaded every assault. When the orcs arrived at Ironforge, the ogres had suffered terrible losses and there would soon be no more ogres in the entire Khaz Modan attack force. Mor’kan could take the abuse of his people no longer. On the eve of the Horde’s assault on Ironforge, Mor’kan gathered his people into the least defended area of the orc war camp and attacked the guards of the southern gate. The small number of orc guards were taken by surprise and before they could fully respond, they were crushed by the raging ogres who were venting years of hatred and frustration at their bloodthirsty masters. Mor’kan pulled his people back and left the camp before the greater whole of the army had a chance to regroup and crush them and so he and his people fled across the frozen Dun Morogh plains, unsure what to do with their new freedom…

3.the hidden years and the coming of the Goblins:

The large group of Ogres under Mor’kan Mountainfist settled deep in the desolate crags of the Badlands, far from any sort of civilization. Here they remained in hiding for years, struggling to survive and eking out a barely adequate existence amongst the dusty valleys. It was only through the existence of a remote Goblin trading post that the ogres were able to acquire their supplies, Chief Mor’kan electing to barter with the proprietors instead of letting his people raid the post for supplies(because the ogres had no money). It was through the owners of the post that Mor’kan learned of the world and the peoples of Azeroth, these lessons he passed to his people. Over the years of hiding, the Mountainfist Ogres grew to become knowledgeable and practical about the art of civilization, one day however a visitor arrived in the camp, having been sent there by the goblins of the trading post. The visitor was an ogre, but one with two heads, he asked to see Chief Mor’kan and introduced himself as Draz’zilb, former mage of the Stonemaul Clan. He conversed with Mor’kan and told him of the third war and the defeat of the Burning Legion, he explained that the Ogres were now a free race who lived as savages and raiders, hunted and reviled by the world at large. Mor’kan was deeply saddened by the fate that had befallen his race, but Draz’zilb told him that his tribe was different, that the lessons Mor’kan had passed from the goblins made his tribe the most civilized that he knew, and that he should spread his tribe’s lifestyle to the other ogres of the Badlands (quite a few had moved there). Over the next year and with the help of Draz’zilb, the Mountainfist tribe unified the scattered ogres of the Badlands, Mor’kan managing to avoid bloodshed by defeating each chief in turn and sparing their lives, these acts of nobility spread across the Badlands and soon the ogres hailed Mor’kan as their Grand Tribe Lord. One day, Mor’kan was visited by his friends from the trading post, the had a missive from one Sam Steamwheedle of Undermine wich promised the answer to their problems.Mor’kan knew that the newly unified ogres were not safe from the dwarves in the badlands and this summons seemed to be a solution, for Sam Steamwheedle promised safe haven to any race who asked it, and so with his finest warriors and Archmage Draz’zilb in tow, Mor’kan Mountainfist departed to Undermine where he and other leaders formed “Freelance Conflict”. After the forming, the Goblins sent a large fleet of ships to transport the ogres to their new home on the Isle of Kezan and the ogres finally had a home where they could live unhindered by anyone…

The Worgen:

1.Gilneas and the great curse:

The mighty human nation of Gilneas had been a member of the Alliance of Lordaeron for the entirety of the second war. With the orcs defeated however, King Genn Greymane and his people grew tired of the Alliance and it’s incessant leeching of Gilneas’s resources. It was not long after the second war that Gilneas renounced it’s membership in the Alliance and pulled it’s forces back home, erecting the massive Greymane wall to ensure no one would disturb the nation ever again, but this was not to be. Several months into their self imposed isolation, a team of royal builders discovered a massive stone monument in the forest of Dalewin, on the site where a new military forttress was to be constructed. King Greymane callously ordered the monument be razed and he himself was to oversee the operation. On the nightof the clearance however, the humans discovered a massive white wolf standing between them and the monument, behind the creature was a young girl who appeared to have been injured. The massive wolf’s eyes blazed with an unnatural light, she had been harmed when the workers attempted to remove her from the site, and every human in Gilneas heard a voice that seemed to come from the air itself, a voice filled with primal wrath. “ Hateful mortals, you have come to desecrate the home of Ornlu Father of all wolves, and now you have harmed my daughter!MY DAUGHTER! This is an unforgivable crime, you will be made to attone for it, you will all be made to attone!” Before anyone could say anything, the massive wolf howled a long furious howl, and the moon broke through the clouds, bathing the entire nation in it’s light. Every human who was touched by this divine moonlight was changed, their forms were twisted and grew furred, their hands became claws and their minds grew feral, they had been transformed into massive wolf-like beings with little more intelligence than a beast. This event came to forever be known as the Great curse, the retribution of the White wolf…

2. The Feral times and the daughter of the Wolf:

The years that followed the Great curse were known as the Feral times. During these times, horror and carnage ran rampant throughout the ruined nation of Gilneas. The newly transformed wolf-men attacked the humans who had managed to avoid the light of the moon, all throughout the land screams mixed with howls echoed , the remaining humans fought desperately against their former countrymen, villages and towns became open battlegrounds, countless humans died at the savage hands of their own friends and family. The years passed and the screams began to die down, what humans remained now cowered in heavily fortified camps on the fringes of the mountains or across the coast, barely managing to survive, many of the cities had fallen into ruin, the once proud human structures becoming overgrown and the bones of their occupants being scraped clean by scavengers, the majority of Gilneas had been overrun by the savage wolf-men who lived like animals, lurking in caves and emerging to hunt in great packs the unlucky creatures who ventured to far inland. By this time the great monument had been abandoned by all , with the wolf-men instinctively terrified by the site and the humans nowhere near it, Ornlu and his daughter Luna of the Feral Moon were allowed to live in peace, Luna having grown into a beautiful young woman who possessed all the beauty of her mother Elune, and all the primal nobility of her father. Luna came to learn of the cursed wolf-men who seemed to haunt the fringes of her home, her father explained who they were and why he had cursed them. She at first was Appalled by these beasts, but grew to pity their animalistic existence, chastising her father for having made an entire nation suffer for the sake of one injury, she asked him to remove the curse, Ornlu conceded that the people of Gilneas had suffered enough but there was no way to reverse the transformation, so Luna used her divine powers to return to the wolf-men their sentience and the memories of who they had been. As one the former humans of Gilneas awoke from their bestial states, they found their land ravaged, their countrymen slain and their civilization all but destroyed and they knew exactly who the monsters behind these atrocities were…

3. The rebirth and the Goblins:

Every wolf-man and woman made their way towards the monument of the White wolf and his daughter. When they arrived, they found Ornlu and Luna sitting side by side, as if they had expected them to come. An old wolf-man separated from the massive group and made his way towards the two demigods, they both looked at what used to be King Genn Greymane and he looked at them, and prostrated himself before the ones who cursed his nation, his people followed suit. Greymane told the great Ornlu that their lives as near animals had taught the proud people of Gilneas humility and respect towards the natural powers of the world, that they did not blame the demigod for having cursed them and that he was right to have done so. Luna was moved by the old being’s words and decided to aid him and his people in rebuilding their nation, she was adopted by the wolf-men as their savior and her father was honored as their teacher. Over the next few months, the wolf-men began revitalizing their home, they reconstructed their cities but instead of banishing nature from them, they built around her, causing wild grove-like cities to rise where the ancient stone fortress cities had stood, the former capitol of Gilneas was rechristened Lunarai city of the Feral Moon in honor of Luna and Ornlu. The great wolf , impressed with the former humans’s efforts to connect with nature, trained a select few in the ways of nature, and thus were the druids of Lunarai born. During the reconstruction, the wolf-men learned of the events that had transpired during their isolation, the invasion of the Burning Legion, the rise of the new Lich King and the colonization of Kalimdor, they learned that the old Alliance had been shattered and a new one had risen and that the bloodthirsty horde had been reborn and was now a benevolent force in the world. After several months, the wolf-men finally opened the gates of the Greymane Wall and once again ventured forth into the world, the human refugees from the undead scourge who had camped under the wall were horrified at their appearance and immediately fled from them, calling them demon spawns, sons of Arugal and worgen, it was then that the people of Gilneas learned of Arugal and the creatures he kept in his service, they returned with the news to King Greymane who was now Arch Druid of his race, enraged and indignant, he proclaimed that his people would take the name of these creatures to redeem it in the eyes of the world and that they would exterminate these mindless aberrations wherever they could be found. So the newly christened worgen lived in relative exclusion from the major races of the Eastern Kingdoms, who saw them as Arugal’s creations, until the arrival of a goblin courier to Lunarai. He bore a message from one Sam Steamwheedle Offering an answer to the worgen’s problems, having nothing to lose, King Greymane and the two demigods departed for Undermine where they helped found “Freelance Conflict” after some initial reluctance by Ornlu in joining a force that included the naga. After returning home, King Greymane proclaimed to his people that this new alliance was the key to redeeming their adopted name and that every worgen would show the world the greatness that had been given to them by the Daughter of the Feral Moon and the great White Wolf…

The Naga:

1.The Sundering and the bargain:

When the Burning Legion was defeated for the first time by the night elves in the War of the Ancients, the power mad Queen Azshara and her Highborne followers were drowned along with the great capitol of the night elves, Zin Azshari when the Well of Eternity collapsed upon itself. Azshara and her servants were smashed to the bottom of the sea, but before they could perish under the waves, the queen heard a voice in her head “"There is a way... there is a way... you will become more than you ever were... more than you ever were... we can help... we can help... You will be more than you have ever been... and when the time comes, for what we grant you... you will serve us well..." Azshara accepted the voice’s offer, deciding anything was better than death, and she and her people were transformed into the monstrous, serpentine naga. Once the seas had calmed, the highborne awoke to find their great city completely underwater and their once magnificent bodies, particularly the males, had been transformed into hideous parodies of their previous forms. They would have despaired had their glorious queen not assured them that she had had her subject’s best interest at heart when she saved them by making the deal with the unseen force, who revealed itself immediately in a giant whirlwind of water. The force was revealed to be Neptulon the Tidehunter, Lord of all oceans and master of the water elementals, when Azshara asked why he had aided them, the primal Lord answered that the Sundering had ripped a hole in reality that opened into the elemental plane, the location now known as the Rift, he explained that the Well of Eternity,in addition to being a fount of magical power, had been constructed by the Titans as a barrier between Azeroth and the prison of the malefic Old Gods and now that it was destroyed, the barrier had begun to crack. Neptulon told the naga that he and his fellow elemental lords had long since abandoned the Old Gods and that if they were to escape from their prison, they would enslave the elementals once again, so they personally crossed the rift and sealed the crack in reality with their own powerful magic, however the rift to the elemental plane had began to close and the barrier would break if not maintained, therefore he and his peers had decided to appoint a race of mortals to ensure the seal remained unbroken. The highborne had been chosen because they had been closest at the time and because Queen Azshara’s formidable magical powers were more than enough to maintain their seal, so Neptulon had transformed them in order for them to accomplish the task he had set for them. Though her people were angered that they had been saved only to be the servants of the Tidehunter, Azshara knew it was either serve him or drown, so she accepted that she and her people would be the stewards of the seal and Neptulon gifted the queen with a pendant exquisitely crafted from the smoothest coral, this was known as the Amulet of the Tides wich would allow her to communicate with the elemental lord. As he gave the pendant to her, the rift to the elemental plane began to close and Neptulon returned to his home in the Abyssal Maw, promising the naga that he would know if they did not obey him, so the former highborne under Azshara began to undertake the burden that had been placed upon them…

2.The Betrayer and the Betrayal:

For the next ten millennia, the naga went about their task, using their sorcerous powers to hold the elemental seal in place. During this time, they reconstructed their former capitol of Zin Azshari and renamed it Nazjatar, Queen Azshara still presided over her subjects, having been granted immortality by Neptulon so long as she kept the Amulet of the Tides. Azshara, now known as Empress Azshara, was ever loved by her subjects and she oversaw the construction of the mighty Naga empire, wich spanned far and wide under the dark seas of Azeroth. Throughout the millennia, the naga prospered and grew to dominate the ocean floor around the rift, contested only by the lobster-like Makrura and the ancient and terrible Sea Giants. The naga continued this hidden existence until one day a mighty force called out to them. Illidan Stormrage had used the mighty artifact known as the Orb of Kil’Jaeden to contact the naga, he demanded that they aid him in his endeavour to destroy the Lich King at the behest of his new master, The eredar lord Kil’Jaeden. The naga had not forgotten their seething hatred for the night elves who had ruined their ancient city and cursed them to this existence, Empress Azshara immediately refused to aid the mad night elf who had betrayed the queen’s trust so long ago, but the Betrayer found the aid he sought regardless of the Empress’s wishes. Lady Vashj had been Azshara’s head handmaiden as a night elf and she was know head of the Empress’s sea witches, though Vashj was extremely loyal to Azshara, she had a lust for power and authority that her position did not fill. So she commanded a large group of naga and left Nazjatar to answer Illidan Stormrage’s call, this was seen as a betrayal by the remaining naga and Azshara, furious at Vashj’s departure, immediately sought to capture her wayward subjects, but unfortunately they had disappeared along with the Betrayer. By the time the rogue naga resurfaced, it was already too late to capture them, Vashj and her naga now accompanied by the naga’s cousins the high elves, now known as blood elves, had made their way to Outland and had put themselves themselves beyond Azshara’s grasp before she could even mount an expedition to the surface. Angered at the defiance of her once favoured sea witch, Azshara withdrew her forces to the sea, leaving a few warriors to survey the coasts of Azeroth in case the renegade naga were to return…

3. The Gift of Azshara and the Goblins:

After the betrayal, the Empress Azshara grew discontent and sullen with her people’s state. She had seen her body become gigantic, monstrous and completely unbefitting of her glory, a change she had noticed with her male subjects, who were now hideous brutes more serpent than elf, Azshara decided she could no longer tolerate these imperfections in her empire. She contacted Neptulon with her Amulet of the Tides and demanded his permission to alter her as well as her people’s forms, the elemental lord gave her leave to do as she wished, saying that only the maintaining of the seal was important to him and his fellows. So Azshara gathered her mightiest sea witches and summoned all her people to the steps of her magnificent palace in Nazjatar, there she began to weave a spell of epic proportions, wich took a full day to prepare, this spell expanded and engulfed every naga within the enourmous city, bathing the sea in a magnificent blue glow wich could be seen from the surface. When the light faded, the naga looked with disbelief at it’s result, their empress was no longer monstrous and twisted in body, her form was now similar to that of a regular female naga but a thousandfold more beautiful, it was a form truly befitting the Empress’s magnificence, but the spell had not stopped there, the naga looked and noticed that a significant change had overcome the males, their bodies were smoother and less spined, their faces had been changed , they returned to the males the elven beauty that long been forgotten by them, but the most striking difference was internal, the males felt as if a haze had been lifted from their minds, they had regained all of the intelligence that had been lost in their first transformation. The people’s gratitude knew no bounds, they wept with joy and bowed before Empress Azshara, her kindness had erased all form of discontentment from the hearts of her subjects. The Celebrations of what came to be known as the Gift of Azshara lasted for a full month. After it had died down, Empress Azshara received a message that had been passed to one of her surface spies, it was from the goblins of Undermine and it requested her presence along with assurances that her effort would not be in vain. Intrigued by this so-called proposition and after being granted permission from her benefactor Neptulon, Empress Azshara decided to travel personally to Undermine, bringing her High Advisor, Xeltherin Deeplash and the Commander of her armies, General Laza’nor Wrathtide with her. At Undermine, the empress agreed to join “Freelance Conflict”, enticed by the possibility of claiming untold riches and treasure to supplement her already prosperous empire. In order to facilitate relations with their allies, the naga realized they would have to make their holdings accessible to them, at the behest of their Empress, the naga erected massive arcane towers around the core regions of their empire, these towers were used in conjunction with Empress Azshara’s sorcery to create a massive air bubble that encompassed the heart of her domain, allowing her allies to walk freely on the ocean floor. With this task complete, Azshara and her followers turned to the surface world, ready to venture forth once again onto dry land…

The Pandaren:

1.From old times to new:

Before the Sundering, the jovial pandaren cultivated a peaceful and prosperous society in the land of Pandaria, situated in northwestern Kalimdor, maintaining a tentative truce with their powerful night elf neighbours. When the Burning Legion came however, the pandaren found the night elves’s folly marching on their kingdom, destroying all in it’s path. With steel and courage, the mighty pandaren armies met the demons blow for blow, resulting in a deadlock that lasted for weeks, interrupted only by the Sundering, wich ripped the demons back to the Twisting Nether, and shattered the pandaren’s kingdom. Haggard and shaken, the surviving pandaren found that their land had been completely separated from the new continents, however, instead of attempting to re-establish connections with the mainland, the pandaren leaders preferred to remain secluded on their new island where they would be undisturbed by the other races, especially the night elves whose actions had caused this catastrophe.Ten thousand years passed and the pandaren lived peacefully on their island home, a peace only broken by the occasional raids conducted by the kobolds of the Jade Hills on outlying Pandaren settlements, however the rumours of war reached even their secluded nation. Stories from wandering brewmasters told of many fantastic events happening on the mainland, the invasion of Kalimdor by a race of green-skinned strangers, the stirring of the night elves from their forests and the second defeat of the Burning Legion by the mortal races of the world. These stories kindled the fire of adventure in many young Pandaren and the ruling shodo-pan council found themselves wondering wether they should attempt an earnest re-connection to the mainland…

2.The Alliance problem:

With the calming of tensions between the powers of Azeroth, the Pandaren decided it was time to seriously consider an alliance with another race. To determine wich of the great powers they should establish relations with, the shodo-pan council asked some of their revered brewmasters to see the world and it’s denizens. The brewmasters joyfully accepted this task, seeing it as an excellent opportunity to create new kinds of ale, they all left at the same time and vowed to return with as much ale and information they could gather. After 3 years of wandering, the brewmasters finally returned to Pandaria with stories aplenty, they spoke of the Alliance and the Horde, about how the Alliance was noble, civilized and fair, but at the same time martial, over-complicated and much too frantic. Of the Horde, the brewmaster said it was shamanistic, honorable and overall closer to them than the Alliance, yet it was a recovering force that has yet to find it’s true place in the world. The shodo-pan council debated for a long time these new findings, the brewmasters had added that all the other races were either actively opposing the Alliance or the Horde , choosing a form of faction aligned neutrality or, in the case of the Pandaren, completely removed from the events of the world, this information made it clear that if they wished to establish relations with a race, it would undoubtedly bring them into some sort of conflict with the Alliance or the Horde. This dilemma caused widespread unease amongst the peace-loving pandaren, it seemed that whatever path they took, it would always lead to bloodshed, the shodo-pan council would have elected to permanently cease all contact with the outside world had it not been for the untimely arrival of a miracle…

3.The Goblin invitation:

The guards of Pandaria announced that a strange flying machine had landed in front of the Pandaren capitol of Reedpaw, the shodo-pan council immediately rushed to the scene and saw a group of Goblins waiting patiently. The Goblins said they had been sent by their “Prince” to invite the leaders of the Pandaren to a meeting in the Goblin Capitol of Undermine in order to discuss things that could only benefit both parties, the shodo-pan council did not know what to make of the invitation, having never understood the Goblins, but Nobu Reedwine, eldest of the shodo-pan, immediately agreed that the Pandaren would be present at this meeting, seeing as they had nothing to lose by going. So the pandaren sent a delegation led by Nobu Reedwine to the great city of Undermine where they met with the Goblin Sam Steamwheedle and the leaders of races who, as the Pandaren understood it, had no desire to war with the Alliance and the Horde. This seemed the ideal solution to their problem, so the Pandaren were the first to throw their support into the idea of forming “Freelance Conflict”. The delegation returned to Pandaria, where Nobu Reedwine proclaimed that their home would no longer be isolated and alone, that they had new friends that would be arriving shortly and that the Pandaren should from that day forward, strive to be the best and friendliest mercenaries in the world of Azeroth and beyond…
