CharacterEdit

Lady Ginnala A'zinis Ravenwood is a Blood Elf Mage, affliated with the Horde. She is often seen walking in the streets of Silvermoon, or sitting idly in the Wayfarer's Inn.

DescriptionEdit

Ginnala, stands around 5'6, a standard height for her race, and is almost always seen wearing some formal garb, colored red and gold. Her hair, tied up in a high ponytail, is raven black. Her eyes glow fel green, and a rune can be seen around her left eye, and upon closer inspections, seems to be a protection ward against the element of fire. On the left side of her face, usually covered by her hair, is a rather large burn mark, extending to the corner of her eye and the point of her ear.

PersonalityEdit

The woman can be described with many words, though it seems difficult to come up with a single one. Within the walls of her race's city, she can be seen as calm, docile, even coming across as sweet. Outside the walls, however, another side of her, the 'real' her, can be seen if provoked. She is easily aggravated, but will not resort to extreme measures (say, murder) so quickly. Often she'll just play with the target, flinging fire in their face, asking seemingly innocent questions, etc.

Despite her usual cruelness, she has the capacity to care for her loved ones.

HistoryEdit

Birth & Childhood YearsEdit

Born into the noble household Ravenwood as the eldest child to Arsarian and Firaia Ravenwood, Ginnala was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. From a very young age she was spoiled with the best money could buy; no matter what it was she wanted, it was hers. She was extremely talented in the use of magic, and began to be taught by a private tutor, Amalyth Enami Sunblade, who was rumored to have been blessed by the Blue Dragonflight (though these allegations were obviously false), at a very young age.

Her father, an esteemed magistrix who expected perfection out of his daughter, would go to extreme lengths to ensure she did the absolute best she could, and, if she failed, would go to the same lengths to punish her. These punishments were first as minor as irritating screaming sessions, escalating to beating, and, at one point, burnings.

Many years after Amalyth was brought into their house to train Ginnala, another woman, Theara An'Thamin Sunweaver, was hired as well. She had trained for many years in the arts of magic, and seemed like a fine candidate to oversee Ginnala's progress. Over the years, she became a secondary mother figure to Ginnala-- since her own mother never seemed to care for her-- and would provide support both in her studies and coping emotionally with her abuse.

At one point, Ginnala failed a routine she was to give to guests to the estate, and was punished severely. Her father aimed a blast of fire directly at her face, scarring her physically, and mentally, for life. After this occurred, Theara was able to make a deal with Arsarian-- she would take Ginnala elsewhere for her training, and in return, she would come back perfectly trained for combat. He agreed, and Ginnala and Theara began their trip to the lower part of the Eastern Kingdoms, while Amalyth stayed behind to oversee the care of another child soon to be born.

Misadventures in Grand Hamlet, DuskwoodEdit

After a long, portal-laden, and painfully annoying trip, the two women arrived in the town of Grand Hamlet (Now known as Darkshire) to continue what they started in Quel'Thalas. Training remained the same for the most part, and while the two high elves had some trouble fitting into the primarily human village, they remained there for a long while nonetheless. It seemed that neither of them were in any hurry to get back to Quel'Thalas. During this time, Ginnala began to see her mentor as the mother she never had back at home, staying near her and going through the town with her, no matter how mundane the activities were.

It was also during this time that she met Kalindrina Daciana (Unknown), a human girl about the same age as her (biologically). They met at the marketplace by a juggling-related accident, where Kali's parents were selling the produce from their farm and Kali was, as usual, goofing off. They quickly became friends, and Ginnala learned that Kalindrina, like herself, was the victim of abuse, though hers was sexual, not physical. They would often visit each other constantly, and were extremely close, so much so that Theara would joke of them getting married, which never seemed to strike a bad note to Ginnala.

A few years later, they received a message from home: they were to return immediately, as something of great importance had occurred, though the letter never specified what. Kali was rather dismayed when she was leaving, and they made a promise to find each other again later.

And with all that said and done, they began their trip back home.

Home, Not So Sweet, HomeEdit

Upon arriving back in Quel'Thalas some time after receiving the letter, the two discovered what the cause for the excitement was: Firaia had birthed another child. No, that was nothing special. What made this special was that this child was a boy. The male heir that Arsarian had for so long wished for to succeed him and take over the Ravenwood upon his death. There was only one problem-- the eldest child inherited the household.

The eldest child was, of course, Ginnala. Arsarian, however, would not allow a woman to take power in the house, not if he could help it. Knowing there was little that legal matters could do, he ordered his own daughter murdered.

Ginnala, who had overheard the conversation to kill her, was, understandably, devastated. Her mind, weak from the abuse she had suffered in the past, coupled with the separation from her friend, began to shatter under pressure. She went to Theara and told her everything, half screaming, half crying, and pleaded for her help. The only thing Theara did in response was take the sword hitched to her belt and hand it to Ginnala, eyes blazing with rage. She too was sick of the tormenting.

The rest seemed like a blur to the woman, though the image of her baby brother and mother bleeding to death were etched into her memory, forever associated with everything she saw as sorrowful and heart-wrenchingly painful in the world. The image of her dying father, faded over the years, has always come as a source of rage, pain, and, ultimately, elation to her. Upon his death, Ginnala came to be the ruler of house Ravenwood.

Present DayEdit

ChildrenEdit

Ginnala has birthed two children, both girls to her relief, from two different fathers, both named in honor of Amalyth, her original mentor, who disappeared while she was in Duskwood. The first was named Amalyth, the second Enami. Despite her wishes, her daughters both followed the Light and became Priestesses. She has often encouraged them to follow her path, both as mages and murderers, to the point where it would constitute as abuse, though she would never harm them physically.

Old Friendships RenewedEdit

Keeping the promise she and Kalindrina made, Ginnala found the woman again. After the years they had been separated, Kalindrina had died and been raised as a member of the Scourge, but regained her free will and became part of the Forsaken. They met once again by accident, and soon after, Ginnala took Kali as her wife. This was in part because Kali couldn't remember her surname from life, and they shared a strong bond, though completely platonic.
